This Saban has ranted against the up-tempo for a reason. He would get worked if he had to play Oregon this week, just like against ATM. Thing is, as we've seen the last two championship games, Saban is deadly with a month to prep. This Oregon team seems different then the teams they've had in years past.... They play defense now, and they finally have a real elite QB running that offense....

We are one or two Lawrence Phillips' away from winning it all....

Those programs you listed have been in the B1G a long, long time. Those schools ARE the B1G. They were made part of the conference back when geography was the only reason somebody was in a conference. The latest round of alignment was to improve the conferences and make some more money..... The B1G might make some money, but they considerably watered down this conference....

The B1G doesn't make any sense most of the time, but having said that, from a playoff perspective it could be beneficial if we win those games in 2018.... It would be my hope as a Husker fan, to either play Ohio St. or Michigan every year.... Rutgers, and Maryland have really watered down this conference. Their additions were one the more disappointing "sports" decisions that I can remember.....

You're really trying to talk smack about Wisconsin losing in the Rose bowl when we can't even get past being blown out in the ccg of the B1G to earn an appearance? . It was a harmless shot. Relax Whistling Dixie.

No, it's because "the quarterback" is low-hanging fruit, and people are too lazy to learn the game enough to know how to properly gripe about the defense. People gripe about Martinez because it's easy. The quarterback is also low-hanging fruit for people like you to give way too much credit when something good happens. Martinez did not win a single game by himself in the last four years. He also didn't lose a single game. Of course games come down to far more than a few plays, and if you really want to make an argument for "if this play doesn't happen then the outcome of the game changes" you can name several more players who have "won" or "lost" games. Martinez may not have been the only reason for those comeback wins last year, but without him we don't win any of those games....

1. Martinez would be at least the 2nd best QB to ever play at Wisconsin (Considering Wilson played one season).... So there's that.... 2. Does this "new to winning" arrogance of some Wisconsin fans remind anyone else of Missouri/Kansas St.? 3. Quit trolling a Nebraska board and enjoy the past three Rose bowl appearances Wisconsin fans, because as long as Urban is at OSU you aren't sniffing another one for a long, long time....

His two turnovers in the Wyoming game kept us from extending a lead. The defense wasn't helping him any....

#18 is Alexander. Too your point on blitzing: I don't understand why we don't blitz the hell out of a QB when they prove play after play that they can't connect with a WR when we bring the house. If the opposing QB is struggling with the pressure, we should bring it more often until that QB burns us on it. Afalava responded nicely, but our most impressive LB yesterday was Rose. That guy knows how to make a tackle.

I think that's by design. Obviously he'd have better numbers if Kellogg wasn't taking about half the snaps. The coaches are actively trying to prevent a controversy. Kellogg only had 2 drives (maybe 3) yesterday right? Martinez deserves a chance to respond to what Armstrong has done in his absence. If he doesn't respond correctly, then I'm all for Armstrong being the guy moving forward....

Through the first 3 games Martinez was much improved in protecting the football. Armstrong has put the ball on the ground more than once, and if not for Bell's incredible effort on that TD catch that pass was going to be intercepted. I think Armstrong is going to be fantastic, and I think he could lead us to the B1G Championship if he had too, but Martinez is still the best option for us. Again, Armstrong has been great, but 140 yds passing, and 18 rushing doesn't stir up a QB controversy for me....

His perimeter blocking is a thing of beauty. The guy is making himself a lot of money this year....
