  1. I was in the mall with my family a year or so back, and I had a college aged kid stop me on front of American Eagle and ask where I bought my boots. I told him Justin Boots, and he said he didn't realize they sold "distressed" boots like that. I chuckled, and let him know that I distressed my own boots. He got the joke/irony, we both lauhed, and I clutched my blue collar pearls as I walked away.
  2. I'm sure the fella in women's boots, holding a camera is a long time wearer of Carhartt work bibs.
  3. Be careful there! The superintendent in our district offed himself in 2020. Edit: Obviously I'm not blaming the teachers for that.
  4. We have four kids in our school district, so we're around the schools a lot for various things. You can see in on the teachers' faces. My Dad really has at least 4 years left, should probably go 7 more. He's talked about retiring early and just working for me (in landscaping).
  5. Teachers are in a tough spot, for sure. My Dad is inching towards retirement, and looking more forward to it by the day, I think.
  6. I thought it was clearly a joking/tongue-in-cheek post. The joke being, leaving more kids "behind" would lighten your wife's workload as a teacher.
  7. Oh, I highly doubt they do, and don't blame them for not caring. Now, I'm profiling here, but I'm fairly confident the folks in those pictures are Democrats.... And it's a funny/ironic circumstance as to why they're wearing Carhartt. Maybe I've misunderstood the theme of the two Utopia threads in the forum.
  8. Worn just how Carhartt intended their product to be worn, I'm sure. Carhartt makes a great hat, stocking hat, and comfortable/warm hoodies, so I won't be throwing out any of my Carhartt apparel. Their work pants, however, are more of a fit for this kind of "work". Dickies flex work pants are the way to go if you actually plan to work in them. And that concludes your blue collar wardrobe advice for the day....
  9. He and I agree on almost nothing politically, so I don't know how you'd come to that conclusion. I enjoy the variety of topics he covers, and he's a fantastic long form interviewer.
  10. Are they pointing out her ironic last name?!
  11. Meh. He's not a moron. Far from it. And he's better at the podcast thing than anyone else. Also, the rich guy/working class comment is hilariously predictable at this point. I'd imagine the demographics of his listening audience is as, or more diverse than almost any other podcast. Personally, I find him to be a breath of fresh air, and pretty damn genuine. That's where he draws people.
  12. Did they go there thinking they'd get millions in donations? Are you talking about the money GoFundMe refused to pay?
  13. You've got athletes sweating all over each other on the court/field, and then putting a mask on when they're on the bench. Heck, Lebron's son and teammates wear masks under their chins the entire time they're playing. We've seen all the maskless politician photos.... It's grandstanding. Nothing more.
  14. It's a funny.... But it's all the left really wants out of him.
  15. I equate this to people being fatigued by the overly patriotic. Personally, I get tired of hearing about both (how patriotic you are, and the race). Having said that, I don't care what jerseys the team wear.
  16. He was 24-25 in three seasons, with zero playoff appearances. I suppose you could make a case for him keeping his job, but it also shouldn't be that surprising that he was fired. Nagy went 34-32 with the Bears, and I don't see anyone rushing to his defense. Zimmer was 72-56 with the Vikings. It's fairly clear why people are upset that he was fired. My biggest issue with Flores is the way he's going about throwing people under the bus.... He did Belichick and Elway pretty dirty. The same with the Giants. If you don't want people to give token interviews to minority candidates, don't require them to give those interviews. If an organization has their guy lined up, it's a waste of everyone's time. Also, it looks like Hue Jackson is wanting to join the lawsuit? That's hilarious.
