  1. And it begins....Exciting stuff... http://my.journalstar.com/post/Husker_Extra_Group/Husker_Extra/blog/mike_stoops_has_great_respect_for_bo.html
  2. Who knows... If TO did not like Bo, he may have taken that situation and said, "Okay. See ya." I think that TO likes Bo and sees potential in how he runs his team and embraces Nebraska traditions. THAT is my take, right or wrong, on it. take it or leave it, I'm just throwin it out there. I'll take it!
  3. I've heard the Carl/booster wife situation, but was there ever any actual confirmation that Bo said "I go if Carl goes"... that would seem to create some crazy tension between Osborne, and Bo.
  4. I think that everyone is planning on the promotion of JP because of Bo's "Promote-A-Friend" policy, however I think the lack of qualifications is so obvious in this situation, that even Bo will have to take notice of it. He can still hire a friend, Mike Stoops. Papuchis seems like a promising coach, but did anyone notice (obviously you all did) the fall of the DLine this year, with almost the exact same players as last year? The DLine was horrible, and this was JP's first year coaching them by himself. Also, if the big fish in the recruiting world that we are going after don't come to Nebraska, then JP has failed in his first year as a Recruiting Coordinator. I like JP, but he had a rough year, and the promotion to DC would have to be a mistake by Bo....
  5. Do you really believe what you're saying? So having two great defensive minds on one sideline would be "silly".... That makes no sense, I guess since Bo is already the brightest mind on our staff we should just do away with the rest of the defensive staff. I'm sure Bo can handle it.... Sorry, but having two brilliant defensive minds would nothing but benefit Nebraska, and our recruiting efforts of defensive players....
  6. In short, Carl is replaceable, but I do not think that JP is the guy....
  7. Everyone needs to get off of the "Gill to Nebraska" kick.... It is amusing how so much of us think that because Gill is a Nebraska guy, Bo will/should bring him back. Bo doesn't give a Sh*t if Gill is a Nebraska guy. Bo and Gill aren't friends, never were, and Bo couldn't care less about Nebraska "ties". Bo is a Nebraska type of guy, but he is not a Nebraska guy....Gill isn't coming to Nebraska, and I'm not so sure he would bring anything to the table.
  8. It is sad to see Carl go, but this is an opportunity that he has to take. If he retired from coaching without taking an opportunity like this, I am sure he might regret it. However, I think it would be a mistake for Bo to promote JP to Defensive Cooridnator. I do not think that JP seems ready for that position, and this was his first year coaching the DLine without Carl, and the DLine was significantly worse then the year before, with pretty much the same guys. That is not a good sign at all. My only complaint about Bo is this "Promote-A-Friend" campaign he does with every hire. While Mike Stoops is a friend, he is more qualified, and probably gettable for Nebraska.
  9. Bad losses = good wins. Easily. See how it's a matter of perspective? Examples needed: Wisconsin 48 Nebraska 17 (Bad Loss)------------ Nebraska 62 Florida 24 (Good Win) Advantage------------ Good Win
  10. Definitely agree. But the growing pains are really, really bad. Agreed.
  11. Really? Yes Really. It would prove to everyone that he has no clue about coaching. Get your starting Qb injured in a blowout for no reason. Come on.... Really?? Yes really. Continue being obtuse though. Its just hard to believe anybody but a child would jump to the conclusion that Bo can't coach. Do you honestly believe Bo can't coach? It is not whether he can coach defense or not it is a question is he a head coach and can he recruit athletes? I think Bo is a good head coach, and I think he will be great one day. He is a driven person, and none of us are qualified to label him as a bad coach anyways. I would say that Bo has shown the ability to rake in some good recruits (according to the recruiting websites anyways). Green, Heard, Peat, David, Burkhead, Turner, Tyler Moore, etc. All are big time recruits.
  12. It's not that simple. You can't just fire a coach with several years' in a row of winning records. You'll never get another coach that way. Frank Solich come to mind? No, but consistent mediocrity does. You're calling 9- 10- 10- and no worse than 8-win seasons back-to-back-to-back-to-back "mediocre?" You may as well get used to having horrible coaches then, because if you fire that coach, nobody will come to coach for you. Well, Bill Callahan will come. And I think we all know how that will work out. Yeah, if we just hold on for another 10-20 years we will be right into the thick of things again. Exactly. I love how people use the TO argument for keeping Bo around. Times have changed. You don't get 20 years to prove yourself. If you average 9 or 10 wins a year, then you probably do get close to 20 years, especially at Nebraska....Osborne will have patience with Bo. Again, quit looking at the # of wins and look at the losses. The way we lose is the problem: out-coached, undisciplined, mistake-ridden, etc. etc. That is the problem. Not to mention that half of those wins are against a joke of an OOC schedule and bad B1G teams. I didn't think the OOC was that bad this year, and do you realize that if Penn ST. beats Wisky next week that we will have beaten both teams in the CCG? We have had good wins, but our losses have been bad, no question.
  13. Better then the words that could be used to describe the 4 years previous to that.... So just because we are better than we were under Billy C we are supposed to be happy? Not at all.... I'm just raining straight facts up in here.... You are right mediocre is better than crappy. I appreciate your acknowledgement.

Who said anything about being "happy?" We're better than we were under Callahan. That's all he said. If we (Nebraska) were into firing 9/10 win coaches, then we wouldn't have one of the greatest coaches of all time in our history books, and we wouldn't have put together the most dominating five year stretch in college football history, with that same coach. We are all lucky that some of your are not making the decisions. If any of you honestly think Bo is anywhere close to the "hot seat" you obviously don't have any idea what you are talking about. Especially Osborne being the AD, he knows all about what Bo is going through.

  20. Call me Corso!---- (As I take my Nebraska hat off, through it across the room) Ahhh! F*ck It!!!!
  21. Bo will act as if it was Sipple who dropped the passes, Chatlein who fumbled the kickoff, and he'll blame McKweon for not being able to catch Robinson. The media will take the wrath, as always in the postgame press conferences.
  22. Agreed We lost this game once it became apparent that we had a shot at a BCS game. We should have seen this coming, when "opportunity knocks", the Huskers hide in the closet and bump dickheads.
