  1. there's a difference between giving a kid options to go elsewhere and taking his scholarship away if he decides not to. it may seem like a minor distinction, but such things are important. one of the keys to recruiting under TO was that parents knew that if they sent their kids to NU, they would be taken care of. leaving a kid high and dry because you misjudged his talent is not taking care of them and provides fodder for negative recruiting. sure, "everyone does it", but we don't, and that's important. we only have so many advantages in recruiting. we'll carry a david harvey or latravis washington or okafor or anyone else if they hold up their end and decide they'd rather stay in the NU family than seek playing time elsewhere. (again, if a kid isn't putting the work in or keeping his nose clean, that's a different story.) I couldn't agree more.
  2. abdullah... I look forward to watching his career at NU and I have a feeling he'll be a good to very good player for us. I'd consider Ameer an exception due to the fact that most of the south's heavyweights (Auburn in mind) got on him late as we were on him earlier and I recall him saying that he didn't want to be surrounded by people at Tennessee (take it how you may), that spoke volumes to me personally about his character and priorities. I feel that unlike many prospects in the SE, he had a very open mind as to what school would offer him the best opportunity. However, I do agree with you as to the level of talent that we are getting in him.
  3. All along I have heard that USCe will be tough to beat for JD, but I have said it before and I will say it again...never underestimate coach JP when it coems to a kid he really wants. South Carolina has been on the upward swing in the past year, but they have nothing on our defense. +1 on JP and our D. I just would like to see us pull in high caliber guys from the SE with no connections to NU, granted I'll take them how we can get them, within the rules of course.
  4. I like this kid a lot and would love for him to join the Huskers! So I did some further research on him and found out that his father played for South Carolina. It had me wonder how likely would it be that he leaves the south?
  5. 1 year, and no RS. Appreciated, which even strengthens my thinking. That pic is outta control funny. Haha!
  6. While I believe it upgrades Wisconsin's QB situation, it will take time for him to adjust like others said. Where Wisc will be dangerous is still running the ball. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he a 1 yr guy? If so, I feel the odds for those types to be immensely successful are low, JMO. I.e. our own Sam Keller with a redshirt year under his belt, Greg Paulus and Jeremiah Masoli. I know the Wisc has more talent than the teams that the QBs were apart of, but being in a system for a few years counts for something.
  7. I'd absolutely love to be wrong but dude is probably going to FSU.
  8. Was unaware of his top five. For some reason ASU, UCLA and to a lesser extent USC in that order are our competition. That's just my personal feeling.
  9. Thought he never should have been lower than a three star. Glad scout got some sense, now only if rivals wakes up.... Really though, if we get some of the LB targets were after, we're gonna have an outstanding LB class.
  10. I know just how you feel! I prefer JIF. Anyway, lame pun aside, UCLA football commits go there for the education and lifestyle, definitely not the football (at least at this point). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWOsbGP5Ox4 I assume you mean the womenz. Mhmmm... Is this the Nigerian community that Owa was talking about? Lol dang, I dunno man...Although through my encounters with Nigerians, I have yet to see any that look like that. Not sure if they would claim them as such....
  11. Oh well. Looks like a good prospect, but in the end, echoing what others said, family won out. Good luck to him. It seems we are in on some good OL prospects this year.

  13. That's good news! We are definitely in need of his services and would be an outstanding addition.
  14. That's encouraging! I really feel he'll work out just fine at QB and I'm pleased that we are genuinely recruiting him as one. As for the other schools mentioned, it will be interesting to find out how Skippy does at UCLA this year and how Hoke uses Robinson, from what I heard of him being a pro style guy, and how Robinson adapts. But I'm glad he's giving us a chance.
  15. Speaking numbers, what exactly is our scholarship allotment for this class? Last I saw was 15-17. Oh ok, appreciated. I really hope we strike gold on some DE and LB prospects.

  17. Tough to recruit against Oregon. To be honest . . . this guys film isn't nearly as impressive to me as Fuller's. I'm wary of guys who look this uncomfortable throwing the ball. Just looked at both pieces of film and I have to agree with you. I really like Fuller.
  18. Sounds good and looks like a very good prospect!
  19. I love this guy's tape! Would be thrilled if we get him! I see he is visiting us this summer, correct me if I'm wrong, so I have to think it gives us a chance. Does anyone have any idea of how much of a chance? Just wondering....
  20. I was vacation that week and watched that game by myself at an Irish pub near Central Park in NYC. I stayed till the end. But it was painful because there was a table of jackass CU fans flipping me crap. Jackass CU fans--I guess that's redundant. Man that sucks. Luckily was on my way back to NE from So Car for Thanksgiving, so I missed the everything.
  21. Historically, I've never turned off of a Husker game. However the one time I didn't finish a Husker game was the '06 A&M game immediately after Zac Taylor threw the late fourth quarter interception. Was pretty bummed after leaving the watchsite because I figured we'd end up losing the game, because we lost to Ok State a week or two ago in a similar fashion so that led me to assume the outcome. When I got home ESPN displayed the final with us winning by a point or so. I was upset that I missed the ending and elated at the same time because we won.
  22. That sounds good! Hopefully if he is worthy of two deep action, he can provide some talented depth. Let's hope he avoids the injury bug.
