  1. I think last spring for the few practices they had Frost made some comments.   Said he was pleased with how organized the offense was so my guess is that will lead to some efficiency.  Also I think you may see  some differences in the type of WR's that are recruited.   Other than that my guess is not much will change.

  2. I think Pelini will have a good defense there the first 3 years or so, but eventually opponents adjust and I am not so sure how good he is on in game adjustments or deviating from the weekly plan.   Also his style of teaching and motivation tends to be less effective over time for some.   Just my uninformed opinion.

  3. Enjoyed the streaming scrimmage.   Going to be a tough battle at spots.  I always like to see how the new guys perform.

In the OF among the new guys I thought Satori had some good Ab's.   Foster will be the starting RF I think.    Lot of experience in the OF that the freshmen have to overcome.

Like the new infielders as a group.    Matthews batted 2nd and looks like a good athlete.   Steil looks strong and should be a good corner guy.  Anderson played some 3rd and was pretty smooth.  I am not sure if that's his primary position though.  The freshmen will have to make up some ground.    I think Cervantes could be a challenger for starting time somewhere in the IF, probably 3rd as the Juco experience and extra maturity helps.

Really too soon to draw too many conclusions so these are first impressions that don't mean a lot.

Alvarez said that all teams will be playing on Conference Championship weekend.  Each team will play a cross-divisional opponent based on divisional ranking (1st vs 1st, 2nd vs. 2nd, etc.) but there won't be rematches in that final weekend.  That will force some shuffling of games so it's not strictly ranking based.

I like that idea.  Good on them.

Unless one of those big 10 teams lives somewhere with big covid numbers, it shouldn’t be that hard to setup a replacement non con game with testing procedures to match big 10 requirements.

If they want to require everyone move forward then fine. You can opt out of every game but it gets logged as a forfeit and you lose your tv revenue share for that game

    Agree.

If the COC/P use any excuse other than the best science available today for their decision, including "I'm not happy about leaks or being criticized," they should get their pants sued off and lose their jobs.

Agree.  COPC should be more transparent and forward thinking.   I think their egos are bruised for good reason and every game that's played in Sept by SEC/ACC/B12 makes them look bad.

Yes. DBs is a reflection of Fisher imo.  He wants hard nosed physical guys that can move around and play tough.  He will take a players with the right stuff mentally but wants overall physical  strength and desire vs pure speed etc.  I guess he takes what he can get if course but he believes he can teach technique and skills to any player with the right attitude.

Maybe I am wrong but I like his approach and do have confidence he will have his secondary playing well enough to win most of our games.  Just my hunch but I see his recruits as good fits no matter how many stars others rate them.

    Yep.

It does appear that physical size (height atleast) across every position has been prioritized this year and somewhat last as well.

I think speed was the first priority last year.  Nothing to base this on but the first impressions.

My thinking is that this recruiting is the desired result of relationships built over twelve to twenty four months or more with Frost and his crew. They clearly sought bigger WRs this time.  I think this will pay dividends in the run game and in red zone scoring.

O line recruits are maybe more aptly nicknamed the ‘skyline’ than pipeline for now.

DBs are getting safety sized so long as they can run with the faster WRs and RBs.

LBs are hunter types but hopefully can really move and tackle well.  They seem aggressive enough and athletic.

TEs are playmakers not just tall athletes.

Our QB is a bit of a change up type I guess but maybe I am mistaken as I have not watched his film etc as closely as I trust Frost and Verdi to know exactly who and what he brings.  He is their choice this year.  He kind of reminds me of Brook Berringer and he was a championship caliber from a smaller town on the plains.  He may have the right stuff to complement Luke and Logan the way Brook and Tommie fit together.

I see this class more as a group which aims to replenish areas of need than show star power although there are some good fb players.  I like this group and with a good finish can be Frost’s best so far.  Amazing considering everything working against us.

I agree with this.  Also for WR's a different coach makes a difference.    Coaches may value the same attributes but the order with which they favor them may be different.    I think Lubick's type will be slightly different than the previous coach's.

Results: Among US counties with populations greater than 500,000 people, during the week ending June 13,2020, the median estimate of the county level probability of a confirmed infection is 1 infection in 40,500 person contacts (Range: 10,100 to 586,000). For a 50 to 64 year-old individual, the median estimate of the county level probability of a hospitalization is 1 in 709,000 person contacts (Range: 177,000 to 10,200,000) and the median estimate of the county level probability of a fatality is 1 in 6,670,000 person contacts (Range 1,680,000 to 97,600.000).

  10. This whole thing ticks me off.   The B1G leadership should of been making plan A,B and C back in May and going through scenarios.  Their job is to be forward thinking and prepared.   It appears to me that they didn't do a damn thing for 3 months.   They should be transparent and have good facts to support their decisions.   None of them should get paid.   Worthless twits.
