  1. Sorry, to read about your experience at the Big House. Unfortunately, that's what happens when you combine idiots and alcohol. I met several Nebraska fans and had very nice talks with them. It’s terrible when some fans act like idiots. As for your trip the stadium, might I suggest your next trip, (and please make a return visit) you park at one of the local hotels and take the shuttle bus. It cost $4.00 round trip, the bus drops you off in front of Crisler Arena (the basketball arena), you can see the Will Call window upon exiting the bus. After the game the buses are at the same location to take you back to the hotel. You can find info on the shuttle bus here: http://www.aata.org/football.asp . The South area is the best as far as the number of buses gong to and from the stadium - but the traffic in the South area is terrible. The North and East area are best for less traffic - but worse for less number of buses. Example: for the game against Nebraska, I stayed at my usual hotel on the East side. After the game, I missed the first bus because I stayed in the Stadium to see the players run to the student section to celebrate. I was about 10th in line for the next East bus, we waited for what seemed an hour for the next bus, while 4 South area buses came and went. The South area has the most major hotel brands and most major restaurant brands, but more traffic congestion, and on South State where the South area is located, they have what I call the “Ann Arbor Left Turn” or “Ann Arbor Loop Back”. To turn left at some junctions you don’t turn left at a light, you get in the left lane and basically do a loop back or a U-turn to get to a hotel or restaurant.
  2. I just noticed I have 13 posts. I need to post something to get off the #13. Whew, the was close. Now I'm safe.
  3. Hey all you Husker fans, come join the UMGoBlue.com forum. The best UM forum on the net as far as I'm concerned. Very respectful and good insight of UM sports from some good UM fans, until the some of the heathens from ohio visit. But, even some of them are OK.
  4. Say what? What do you mean? I don't know what you're talking about. (
  5. According to rumors here in ohio it is alcohol related.
  6. Now tressel acts like Hardy Hardass. They don't call tressel "The Senator" for nothing. He's like a politician gearing up for an election. The disciplinary actions he takes now, I'm sure makes him think he will look better as the time nears to the meeting with the NCAA. The NCAA needs to see past his ruse, and see that he has always skirted around acceptable behavior. http://www.annarbor.com/sports/um-football/billboard-mocking-ohio-states-jim-tressel-appears-along-michigan-interstate/[/img] http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_college/2011/05/college-football-jim-tressel-joe-paterno-tshirt.html [/img]
  7. Some old and some new smack down on tressel: http://www.campusden.com/Smack_Apparel_Tressel_s_Pawn_and_Tattoo_Navy_Tee_p/32253um.htm http://umgoblue.com/talk/Billboard-Liar-Liar-Vest-on-Fire-m167225.aspx http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_college/2011/05/college-football-jim-tressel-joe-paterno-tshirt.html
  8. Yahoo.....God Bless the free world. Let's hope this puts an end to Al-Qaeda's reign of terror, or at least slows them down. Ding Dong the Warlock's dead, the Warlock's dead. The wicked Warlock's dead.
  9. You really hit a 3 pointer on that. It seems ever since Rich Rod was hired my rituals have not worked. I'm hoping that with Hoke as the HC and him bringing back Michigan's traditions, my rituals and traditions which I performed during his time as an assistant coach will began to work again.
  10. THIS IS LONG WINDED!!!!!! On Friday before the first game on the season I play/sing the following University Michigan songs on the way to work and back home: Entry Cadence (The music the Band enters the stadium to), The Michigan Fan Fare. I also sing “The Yellow and Blue’, ‘Let’s Go Blue’, and ‘The Victors”, I then repeat these songs every day on the way to work and back home until the last game of the regular season. If we go to a Bowl game, I take a break and do what I call Bowl Game practice, where I either sing these songs during a morning or afternoon trip to work/home. I also have a short version of these songs that I practice on the morning/afternoon that I don’t sing the full songs. After the regular season or after the Bowl Game I start Winter Conditioning: which is every Friday I either sing the full version or short version of these songs during the morning/afternoon trip to work/home. When spring practice comes I do to the same practice as my Bowl game practice. After spring practice, I start Summer Workouts (No coaching staff allowed, don’t need the NCAA snooping around ). At the start of Fall Camp I do the same as Bowl game practice and Spring practice. I wear a Blue UM football jersey, Blue UM hat, Blue socks, and Blue belt on Friday before home games, on Saturday of game day, and Monday. On road games I wear a White UM football jersey, White UM hat, Blue socks, and Blue belt on Friday, Saturday, and Monday. WIN OR LOSE. On Friday morning before game day I drink from my "Hail to the Victors", cup on Saturday morning I drink from my "Let's Go Blue" cup. During the game I watch it as follows: I start the first UM series in the family room watching, if the team does well in the first series I remain in the family room for the next series, if both offense and defense do well that’s where I watch the game. If the offense or defense starts doing poorly, I switch to the living room to watch either the offense or defense. Then return to the family room to watch the other squad when it’s their series. If things start going really bad, I will go to my “Coaching spots”: watching the family room TV from the hallway or kitchen or if I'm watching the living room TV I watch from the hallway or front door. I also call penalties on the opposing team before the snap of the ball. Believe me this works; I don't care what my wife says. If it's really going bad or we need one stop to win the game or a TD or field goal the win, I will space back and forth in front on the TV. I also have my radio on or my computer tuned into the UM radio or Internet broadcast to listen to the team announcers, with the TV volume turned off. If I'm at the Big House, which I am for most of the home games, I will shift in my seat to simulate my at home coaching spots and I will call the same penalties against the opposing team. Now, my wife says that none of my, as she calls them "Silly Rituals" work, then I ask her to explain the '97 NC we share you guys, the 2003 100th game against osu, the 2004 UM MSU triple over time game, the game against MSU when I forgot to pack my cups - AND WE LOST!!!!!, hummm?????? God, I love UM !!!!!! I'm sure you have some nuts like me.....I hope.
  11. Welcome aboard and good to see you got that right! Thank you, thank you. And thanks for welcome.
  12. Thanks for the reply and welcome. According to the new OC, he will have our QB do more pro snaps than shotgun snaps, which we saw in our spring game/scrimmage. But, the OC said they would employ some spread also to take advantage of Robinson's skills. The first snap, though was a QB draw which Robinson ran for 55 yards. Then it was all under center. Robinson still has a lot of work to do in the passing game, as witnessed by his poor passing in the game/scrimmage. But, all the reports coming out of all the other practices told of Robinson's accuracy. So, maybe the game/scrimmage he was a bit off. But, we've got all summer and fall camp to get it looking better. I thought the defense looked a lot better than it has in 3 years. 3 interceptions with one ran back for a TD, more gang tackling. Our DT Mike Martin still looked good. They had him lined up some on the end and the tight end had trouble keeping him out of the back field. So, they will be moving Martin around on the line to take advantage of miss mataches. The LBs looked better also. But only a real game will tell the truth. But, I look forward to a return to the Michigan of old. The spread may be good for the Big East, but not so the Big Ten. Rich Rod always said that other Big Ten teams ran a spread, but my answer to him would be: "And how many Big Ten Championships did they win?" Not many if any, I hope I answered some of your questions. Looking forward to a good game between UM and NU.
  13. I can't wait to see Lil' Red on the side lines at the game this year. It was too cool the first time I saw JoPa on the side line. That man is a legend. I hope we can give you a good game. Maybe with Rich Rod gone and a better defense under Hoke we will. I will be rooting for Nebraska before our game, especially in the non-conference and non-division. Here's hoping you give that school in ohio a good thumping. I hope the following doesn't offend any forum rules or you, or any buckeye fans, as it is just friendly rivalry between UM and osu. As you may have heard a little trouble may be brewing at osu. In light of that, I have a song that is sung to the tune of osu's "Across the field". The first version was done in the 70's by Detroit radio station WOMC, but I've revise it a bit in honor of the tat5 and tat tressel. I've sent my revision to the radio station and they said they are looking to revise their version. I've attempted to post an audio file of me singing my version, but, it won't upload so I've posted a link to the file that is at megaupload.com. Please forgive my poor singing. As you will hear I can never give up my day job. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K0DQNFC9 On the right side wait for the countdown timer to stop then click regular download and the audio file will download. It may take a minute or so to complete. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed playing it for my buckeye co-workers.
  14. Helloooooo, Huskers. New member, as my user name shows, I am a Michigan fan. Glad to have Nebraska in our division of the conference. I know we'll have some great battles on the field.
  15. Not if you are riding with Senator Tom Osborne. Am I missing the sarcasm? I'm guessing you guys are being sarcastic about the author making a mistake, but just wanted to make sure. TO was a Representative, not a senator. C N Red, I'm a new member and I eally like the graphic of the Big Ten showing the states and team logos. Can you provide a link to the logo without the gray lines? Thanks.
