  1. Not sure if this has been a topic yet, but I have always said, some of the best places to eat/shop are off the beaten path and well worth the trip or discovery. Whether its a Mom and Pop restaurant or some greasy spoon place in the back of a truck stop, and even some small town places too. To start, I have to make sure that people are aware of a Butcher shop in Carroll, IA called Bordenaros. Probably one of the best meat places I have found. Wet aged perfection. I have tried their picanha steaks (rump sirloin cap), and they have many different steaks to choose from as well and smoked beef and pork sticks, different sausages, ground beef, pork belly, the list goes on and on. I have gotten as much as $60 worth of meat, and had a ton to bring home. Great selection, and great prices. if you are near Carroll on a Monday thru Saturday, well worth the stop.
