  1. It appears that "Dangeruss" is in the process of doing the same thing in Seattle as he did at Wisconsin last year. When he was drafted, few around here expected him to be anything but a backup/student behind Matt Flynn for a year or more at least. Then Wilson shows up at rookie mini camp with the playbook already mastered and calls 500 plays in 3 days and only messes up the play terminology ONCE. He completes 85% of his passes in 7 on 7 drills to WRs whom he barely knows by name. Pete Carroll suddenly realizes he has to give this kid a legitimate shot and includes him in the QB competition for the start. Flynn starts the first half of the first 2 PS games and does ok, but Wilson is dynamic, exciting and productive working with the subs in the second half. People around here start to sit up and take notice and demand he get a chance with the starters. PC gives him the start in week 3 against KC and Flynn ends up in street clothes with a "sore elbow". Wilson goes out and leads the team to 6 consecutive scoring drives (would have been 7 for 7 but the kicker missed the FG) against most of the KC starting defense. He commits zero turnovers, appears to read the D effectively, gets sacked twice but has two long runs for 1st downs. T-Jack finally replaces him at the start of the 4th quarter and goes 3 and out for our first punt of the night and the offense stalls with no points in the 4th. Wilson is asked in the post game interview about his performance and he talks only about the success of the TEAM and ends the interview with a shout "Go Hawks!" Everyone in Seattle finally pissess their pants and starts hugging and kissing with joy as they realize for the first time in Seahawks history that they have a potentially great team in the making, and a franchise QB to lead them to glory. John Gruden is smiling from ear to ear and looking like a true prophet on this one for saying: "If I were Matt Flynn and Tarvaris Jackson, I'd be leery of this kid because, if you give him a chance...If you give this kid a legitimate chance to win the job...he'll win it." -Jon Gruden (on draft day) Russel Wilson is the real deal. High IQ, student of the game and monster work eithic ala Peyton Manning. Tremendoous athletic ability, strong and accurate arm, great vision and awareness, elusive as hell when he has to make a play on his own (although he says he hates to run the ball and would always prefer to pass it to a teammate), in command and inspires those around him to play at a higher level. avoids self promotion and focuses on the team dynamic. What can you not like about this guy? He's great to watch and a very intriguing personality and character that you can't help but gush over and admire. Reminds me of Fran Tarkenton but with a stronger arm, more athletic ability and he runs forward more than backward like Tarkenton (and he is starting his career with a good team instead of an expansion team like Tarkenton). I'd never heard of RW until he transferred to Wisconsin. As I watched him play in their 1st four games, I was mesmerised and had a feeling that this kid is something truly special. I called my brother the week before we played them and I predicted we were going to get destroyed by Wiscy, largely due to RW being the gold missing link. My brother agreed and we know the rest of the story. I became a fan of Russell Wilson from that moment on and I couldn't help but dream about what it would be like to have him on OUR team. Well, he is now on my second favorite football team (Huskers 1st of course) and I and the rest of the Seattle area are waking up to the happy reality that the future looks very bright indeed for the Seattle Seahawks and Russell Wilson....
