  1. AD Shawn "Mr. Invisible" Eichorst made his monthly appearance on the Sports Nightly show from Husker Sports Network. Eichorst said he's "darned proud" of the way the team battled this season. Said it wasn't how anyone expected it to turn out, and he cited the crazy number of injuries across the team. Said the team fought through that adversity all season. Eichorst said he didn't think the results of this season were based on a lack of preparation by Bo or the staff. Said Bo has admitted that he has shortcomings and he's working on them. Said that his policy of evaluating his coaches at the end of the season is why he didn't comment until last Saturday about Bo's future. Eichorst basically said the only reason he made a comment last weekend was because his hand was forced by "all the reports" out there, some that got too personal, that were mostly unfounded. Said that if he had commented on Bo's status earlier in the season it would have created unrealistic scenarios pertaining to Bo's job. Basically, to paraphrase my paraphrasing, he's saying that anything he said would have been considered a benchmark, and he wasn't going to give that impression to anyone. I took this to mean the press would have spun any statement he made into "Bo must do ______ or he's fired," and that's not what Eichorst wanted, so he said nothing. Also cited his personal policy of waiting until the season is finished to fully evaluate the coach's performance. Eichorst talked about the Fan Experience at Memorial Stadium on gamedays. Said he spent time every game walking through tailgates talking to fans about the game, and said they're going to work on the wifi, the sound system and the band before next year.
  2. I like how he is stressing the attitude of the defense, the killer instinct, urgency - and its tremendous lacking. I know it's a post game conference, but, I'm glad to hear something other than just 'execution' or 'process'. He's right, the attitude is totally off. And I hope he does focus on that. "Getting off blocks" was the first thing he said, but then he went on a pretty intense rant about attitude. If he can be so open about the problem, I hope he can produce clear results. Thoughts?
  3. There needs to be some changes made. I am willing to give the defense a chance to develop with the new DC, but that should not take that long since he has already been on board. The secondary didn't do that bad of a job on coverage, this is probably one of the better coverage secondaries that Nebraska has had. The defensive line needs improvement, not enough pressure on the QB. The Offense is another story...if Bo don't get some changes on the coaching staff, this team will never even be a top 5 contender. The offensive line stunk in the 2nd half. No doubt about it. It has done very little this season. I am sick and tired of watching them "develop". Either get them to put out or find someone that can get them to. Cotton is a joke. He should be let go before he gets off the plane on the way back to Nebraska. Once again we had the Burkhead and Martinez show...and once again Burkhead showed why he is one of the best, because he did it for the most part on his own talent. Martinez once again showed he can either be hot or cold, depending on the series. Now that the opposition knows what he will try to do when he takes off, they are ready for the most part. For once 2nd half adjustments were less than we would expect. Usually they can come together at halftime and solve some of the problems. We didn't see that today. The team came out of the locker room flat, and it went down hill from there. I am starting to also question whether Bo is right for this job. The second half, he was melting down, and the team took his cue. Enough already, either show you can handle the job or step down. When the pressure is on, he does not look like he can keep control of himself, let alone the team. Bo is being paid to be a head coach for a major division one football program, he should act like he can handle the job, and be able to control not only his emotions, but the emotions of the team.
  4. Hey all, I've been so out of the loop! & wanted to know whether BO & others were still irate over forums, in particular NCIU, & their rumor-mills & leaks -??? Last season/yr BO was really PO'ed & blasting the Husker Forum which operates under the guise "National Cable Installers Union" who he believed started certain rumors,etc.. After being 'outted' & getting so much bad-attention NCIU was discussing changing its name-alias, tho unsure if they did. You see, my hubby Drew cocky-cox is a member of NCIU, which in all honestly I find rather CULT-ISH ! It's so secretive (& paranoid), is invite only, thoroughly checks potential members, & even if-once approved they're forbidden to discuss or show the Site/Forum (&it's real-time chatroom during games) with Anyone At All !! Moreover, they must pay-pal $12 a month for the priviledge to discuss NE football, other NE sports (& misc. topics) & varying hush-hush news -supposingly!- to the founder Adam Bahr, an UNIV. of NE ALUMNI Associate who's directly claimed to be connected to the Huskers football team (management or whatnot)...Mr. Bahr says he's "In-The-Know" & from what I've seen & heard to some degree he does seem to have detailed info &/or pre-press stuff , But he's become somekind of figurehead & if you displease him/his forum you're gone... SO are he & the members of NCIU responsible for the propaganda that esp. BO was so angry over -well I'm unsure becuz there's so many HUSKER forums, chat-rooms, blogs, etc. web-wide & too easy for rumors to be started, fed on & spread like wildfire... But I'm weary of NCIU or any "group" that claims to have the Inside Info for a very very selective, paying, & gagged few..! Was wondering if BO's anger continues & anything else has gone on in relation to such forums... whats the latest !?
