Alright, so we have a Chevy Trailblazer, and I'm needing to get a replacement Chevy Bowtie sticker/decal for the factory one that's wearing off. I've seen multiple Nebraska fans going around with these replacement decals, but I haven't had any luck going online and finding one ready made. I've seen numerous vehicles both back home and in Texass with them...so I know people are getting them from somewhere... Anyway, could someone here point me in the right direction on how to get a Nebraska-themed replacement Chevy Bowtie sticker/decal? I would be most appreciative.

I don't know if this has ever been discussed and I wasn't sure whether to put it here or in the P&R forum... We see a lot of reports of football players these days that get dismissed from football teams for smoking weed. My question is, if Marijuana is legal in your state like Washington and Colorado, what are the repercussions, if any, to football players on your football teams? Regardless of level. Would it still stay part of team policy? Is the policy geared toward state law? Do you treat it like alcohol use? If you could allow only one to be ok on YOUR football team what would you pick, alcohol use or marijuana?

I have played Vintage Base Ball for 6 years back home in Boston, but upon moving here realized it doesn't exist! So I have taken it upon myself to start up Lincoln's first ever vintage base ball organization. Vintage baseball has THRIVED in New England, New York, the Mid-Atlantic, and the Midwest. I have played against dozens of clubs from 13 states and even Canada. Vintage baseball is a great family event to attend, there are never admission or ticket fees, and we play on open grass fields rather than modern diamonds. Bring a blanket and a beach chair (do people have beach chairs here?) And enjoy a game or two. Some things about Vintage Base Ball are very different than modern ball. We use the rules, equipment and customs of 1864. No gloves, a lemon-peel style Ball, wooden bats that look much different from today's Louisville Slugger. A ball caught on one bounce is an out , and the list goes on. For players, there's much more in it than a beer softball league. This Is baseball, at its roots, the way it was meant to be played. There is a group is Wahoo who has a similar program that works with the Saunders County Historical Society This is a fantastic opportunity for the Historical Society to help teach the earliest game in Nebraska's history. Nebraska's first club, the Lincoln Olympics was founded the same year that Nebraska became a state. I'm turning to the message boards in hopes of increasing our numbers and to see what interest you may have in the development of this project. Nebraska has a great base ball history in the 1860-70s with clubs such as the Lincoln Olympic BBC, Nebraska Indians, Omaha BBC, Fremont Bugeaters and many others started the baseball movement in Nebraska. I am still in the building stages of this organization. I have a dozen or so committed to playing, but I am definitely looking for a significant amount more people to play this summer. Next year I hope to host teams from our of state and do some traveling to other clubs as well. This year is about teaching the game and gaining interest. There so much more I could tell you, but I don't want to chew your ear off in the first message. Our next practice/scrimmage will be Sunday, June 1st, 2014 @ Pioneers Park in Lincoln, NE from 11AM to 1PM. ALL ARE WELCOME. This is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. I like to think of myself as a true Nebrasketball fan. And so i got to thinking, what has changed to make Nebrasketball in to one of the biggest stories in this state. I apologize, but below is a bit of word vomit-- not as organized as i would like and a bit long to read... But here is why i think Nebraska is having a special year. The easy answer is Tim Miles. And while he is a big part, i think that Tom Osborne and the Administration did a few things to create Nebrasketball into a house hold name.... The biggest question we all asked was "what would come first, the fan support or winning?" I am a bit shocked to say, but the fan support came first and has made a big difference, but that is a big part because of the new arena. The shift to changing Nebrasketball has been threefold. So the three obvious things that have started to shift things is this: 1. Tim Miles 2. The Pinnacle Bank Arena/Practice facility(facilities in general) 3. The fan support These three have allowed for Nebraska to start to get the recognition I always knew it could get to. Commentators are calling our home arena a tough place to play... ABOUT DANG TIME WE TURNED OUR FOOTBALL FAN SUPPORT IN TO BASKETBALL SUPPORT! Tim Miles came in and knew what he had to do. He had an opportunity. The Arena, a new practice facility and a new conference. So Tim ran with it. He talked the talk.. He got people excited. He started getting big recruits to just show up... Reason #1 allows for reason #3 to become a factor. At the end of the day, we didnt need winning in order to get the fan support because #1 and #2 above. The Fan support is here, and therefore I think makes it even easier for winning to come. Obviously you need the talent, but again, #1 and #2 above allowed for us to get the talent in the door, and #3 will allow for us to get even more of that talent.. The talent is here, but I figured it would take two years to turn this talent in to a well coached machine... and then Petteway started to show that he could carry us through the bumps of being a newer/younger team. Petteway leads my list of secondary reasons why we are here. A. Players who were under appreciated elsewhere- Petteway/Pitchford B. Bo Pelini C. Creighton's success These three reasons above relate more to the first 3 i mentioned, but i think they have a lot to do with why Option 3 has been so good. A- Petteway is the first guy to get NBA-talk since ... Well since Lue(i believe). He isnt just a scorer, but he is a leader. He isnt scared to take the big shot. He isnt scared to drive. But he also isnt scared to let others score(IE Shields/Pitchford). He wants this team to win and he is only a Sophomore. Petteway and Pitchford didnt get the love elsewhere. Petteway proved to people like Pat Knight and Miles that he could be a great player and the coaching staff at TT just didnt see it. He came somewhere where a coach would just let him go and do what he needs to. We arent the island of misfit toys, but we are the island of second chances. B- This isnt meant to insult Pelini in a thread all about positivity. That being said, the negativity of the football team and Bo Pelini(by some/not all) has made us all want to find some positivity with the 'skers. So, now that a little success has been shown and we have a coach who is bubbly, likes to goof off, is good with the media and represents the team in such a good light. When people talk about Nebraska it is only positive things. Coach Izzo and Pitino(MN) are raving about Miles... the BTN network loves his tweets at halftime and the fan base seems even more in love with him because he is the polar opposite of all the things we dont like about Bo(some people). C. Creighton has been the toast of Nebraska... Getting national love-- and all of this has made me sick.. So when Nebraska has a little success, it feels good. All of a sudden this rivalry is picking up even more. People are being forced to pick a side now. Both teams are having success. And i think that some peoples hate for Creighton is only increasing with their success, and therefore making their love for nebraska grow. Nebraska doesnt want to be seen as option #2 in this state and i think the Nebraska fans see this as a direct competition--therefore are stepping the fandom up. This all said, it has been awesome to watch. All of a sudden Huskerboard is going ape.. New threads each day--people following recruiting.. a game thread that had 7 pages... This is what I am talking about. People are truly excited and I just freaking love it.... I have been waiting so long for things to finally get to this point... This all being said, we have momentum and we cant let it stop. Need to get good players in. Need to keep the good ones we have and cant slip. So that is my take... Nebrasketball is back thanks to 3 main reasons...

Nebraska (4-1, 1-0 Big Ten) travels to West Lafayette Saturday to take on the Purdue Boilermakers (1-4, 0-1 Big Ten). Nebraska is coming off a 39-19 victory against Illinois. Purdue is coming off of a bye week but the last time we saw the Boilermakers they were demolished by Northern Illinois, 55-24. This is the first road game for the Huskers. There is a chance for some rain in West Lafayette on Saturday, but if rain does fall it will be toward the later half of the ball game. Otherwise temperatures will hover right around 70 with winds out of the South at 10mph. Nebraska's Defense and the Big Play Nebraska's defense went into their game against Illinois knowing that they had to get better. They had to be fundamentally better and they had to be mentally better. Coming into the Illinois game, the Husker D allowed 18.4% of the plays they had faced to be either rushes of 10 yards or passes of 15 yards (i.e. "big plays"). Worse yet, those 18.4 % of plays accounted for 61.7% of the total yards given up by the defense. People will point out that yards don't mean anything, but I'm a big believer that yards tell a big part of the story because you have to get yards to get points. Nebraska's young defensive group through 4 games of the season was highly susceptible to giving up the big play, and there was great concern that Illinois could exploit that and come away from Memorial Stadium with a victory. That fear was legitimate. Illinois's offense through their first 4 games of the season was indeed explosive. In fact, the numbers pointed to a potential doom and gloom picture for the Husker faithful. Heading into their game against Nebraska, Illinois's offensive numbers were: 1914 yards, 161 points, 285 plays = 6.71 YPP | Big Plays: 57 (20%), 1300 yards (67.9%) = 22.8 YPP | Adjusted = 228 plays, 614 yards = 2.69 YPP Those numbers pointed to the Illini offense being all about the big play. They had the talent and they had the scheme to exploit the defenses they played (yes, they even did so against Washington: don't let the low yardage total fool you, 238 of Illinois's 327 yards were results of big plays). With Nebraska's defense being highly vulnerable to getting busted open for big plays, Husker and Illini fans were both bracing for a high scoring battle. It didn't happen. Nebraska did much better against an explosive Illinois offense. I could ramble on and on about Afalava's play, the defensive line getting pressure, our tackling in the backfield, and our ability to be opportunistic, but I'll let the numbers do the talking. You have our defensive numbers above; here are the numbers from the Illinois game: 402 yards, 17 points, 80 plays = 5.03 YPP | Big Plays: 9 (11.2%), 154 yards (38.3%) = 17.11 YPP | Adjusted = 71 plays, 248 yards = 3.49 YPP The 5.03 YPP total was 1.68 YPP lower than Illinois's average and 1.41 YPP lower than Nebraska's defensive average. That's a huge improvement. Furthermore, When Illinois hit the big play, which was 8.8% less than their season average, it went for 5.7 YPP fewer. Nebraska's D turned Illinois into a team it was uncomfortable being. Without those big plays, Illinois didn't have the chance to finish off their drives. As a result, the Illini didn't get into the end zone until well into the 3rd quarter. It was definitely a step in the right direction for the young Nebraska defense, who dealt Illinois's offense its worst performance of the season. I know Bo Pelini looks at the film and is encouraged, but not content with what he sees. I am confident that the Nebraska defense worked their asses off this week to get ready for Purdue, and have no doubt that they'll be ready to play on Saturday. I'm not expecting a huge day from Purdue's offense, despite our defensive woes. Aside from their game against Northern Illinois, the Boilermaker offense has been the very definition of anemic: 1508 yards, 85 points, 335 plays = 4.5 YPP | Big Plays: 37 (11%), 731 yards (48.5%) = 19.76 YPP | Adjusted = 298 plays, 777 yards = 2.61 YPP Purdue's offense should play right into the strengths of Nebraska's defense. Their offense has just a hard of a time generating a big play as our defense does stopping a big play from happening. However, in both of their last games, Purdue's offense and Nebraska's defense showed great improvement from their averages. Purdue's offense was more explosive than normal, Nebraska's defense was stingier than normal. So it'll be interesting to see what will happen come Saturday. My bet is that the Husker defense makes another step forward, holding Purdue to their average and further improving those big play numbers. Football is obviously won on both sides of the ball, and Nebraska's offense and Purdue's defense will be the focus of my next entry.

I'm a regular spot light hunter in Eastern Nebraska by Saunders and Dodge county. Recently I've been super excited for deer season (hoping to be the first girl....actually first person...in my family of 8 people to bring home a deer.) I realize Eastern Nebraska probably isn't the best place for bucks so i'm hunting does only. (My family loves deer meat so that's all I need) And I've spent the first two mornings of firearm season sitting out in my friends' field but have been unsuccessful with the exception of hearing coyotes far away from where I was. I'm curious if anyone around Eastern Nebraska has either a place they know I could hunt and bring something home, or could point me in the right direction. I'm heading to Cass County this weekend but I'm open to any advice. If I'm hoping to be the first person out of my family to bring home a deer that should be an indicator that I have little concrete knowledge about hunting and where the best places are. Hey there huskers. First let me congratulate you on breaking the Badger's Hearts. I'm sorry that your first game last year in Madison was horrible and that you had an bad time but most Badger fans can't handle winning.I was satisfied with the results. Moving on, let me say welcome to your first night game in Columbus. It figures to be quite the game with two of the big ten best going at it. Expect a hostile and loud crowd of passionate OSU fans but nothing compared to the hostility in Madison. I'm sure Ohio State fans will roll out the red carpet to you and your football team. That being said if you guys have any questions about Columbus, OSU football traditions, things to see and so forth let me know and I'll get back to you. I should be able to answer most of them seeing how I'm an alumnus. If your coming to the game, I highly recommend you go to Jeni's Ice cream which was rated #1 in the nation. Lastly, I run a blogger where I pretty much take sports predictions from fans of either teams and some non fans on team forums and ESPN to see who can guess the score. If its possible, state what you think the score of the game will be (you can homer out) and I'll take your predictions (i.e. Neb 35 OSU 23) from here and add them to my blogger. I use the data from the game and predictions to study sports betting among fans. After the game, I'll post the winners and how everyone did. Hi, I bought a ticket to the UCLA vs. Nebraska football game on September 8th at the Rose Bowl. Unfortunately, I can no longer attend. The seat is located in Section 23, Row 61, near the aisle. I paid about $80 for it thru Ticketmaster. I need to sell the ticket and am just asking what I paid for it. I was really looking forward to this game as I am actually a Bruin but recently became friends with some Nebraska transplants, mostly from the Lincoln area but also Kimball. They're a fun bunch and would be sitting in the surrounding area. The adjacent seats are still available on Ticketmaster so if there were others in your party they could purchase those directly. I got some news for everyone in here. my buddy works for #ESPN in New York City and they are working on Game Day commercials this week. One of the songs is licensed by The University Of Nebraska entitled, 'Dominator'. The University is using it all season long and ESPN received rights the song to use within their own programming / commercials and highlight reels. The song is electronica based and very similar to something skrillex would do(according to my friends in NY). He said the song was AMAZING and done by a Nebraska alum. The song was also used to preview the new uniforms at a press conference I am told. If anyone has the song, please post! thanks in advance. Minnesota's baseball coach John Anderson is at it again, but this time, he's making (some) sense: By now we all know about the B1G-only limitations on scholarships and over-signing and the supposed philosophies that surround these ideas. But he also goes one step further, and advocates that we should not only apply the same over-signing rules to all schools, but increase the number of scholarships available per team (something other coaches have asked for as well). Of note: There's a lot more covered in Jim Ecker's PerfectGame.org article, located *here*. Granted, this is an article about Minnesota's coach, but he's echoing statements that we've made here (save for his whole 'northern league' crap). Do you think any of this will gain traction with Delaney and Co (read: remove over-signing rules and instead lobby for them at NCAA level), does Delaney and Co. just not give a **** about baseball, or is the truth somewhere in between?
