  1. http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/04/24/when-food-isnt-the-answer-to-hunger/?smid=pl-share Fixes: When Food Isn't the Answer to Hunger The Obama Administration's proposal to change an outdated food aid restriction would allow the United States to feed millions more people at the same cost. What do you think? Good Idea? Bad Idea?
  2. I thought it was pretty interesting that on Obama's ESPN Women's bracket, he has the Nebraska Lady Huskers going to the Elite 8. Regardless of politics, it is nice to get some presidental confidence.
  3. Link via Washington Post What is the world coming to?!?! We can't have a Republican nominee for the highest office in the land reading off of teleprompters, right? That's just obscene and not very presidential--our President should be able to shoot from the hip, and ad lib at a moment's notice so they can sound like common, everyday Americans. I mean, we don't need our President to be some stuffy, pretentious orator that sounds professional or educated--he should sound like the lay man, the hard worker that makes up the majority of this country. We need to be sure that the rest of the world knows that when they're dealing with the United States, that they're dealing with the salt of the earth, and not some fancy learned man who wasn't even born in this country. Ugh, this is the last straw. I can't vote for Romney now--it's disgusting how he's now coming off as polished and refined, and these teleprompters have done it to him. May God have mercy on his teleprompter-using soul.
  4. Is Poland asking too much of Obama than just regretting the using the term "Polish death camps"? Also why is the President not giving them what they are asking for? Attached is one of many articles about the situation. http://www.expatica.com/de/news/local_news/white-house-shrugs-off-polish-apology-demands_230813.html
  5. Steven Ratner of CNBC brought this Washington Post article up for discussion this morning. It's interesting in how, based on what each of the GOP campaigns has brought to the public, the deficit is poised to increase substantially, regardless of whoever is elected into office. The article goes on to highlight that in the midst of all of the doublespeak about deficit reduction and the slashing of Federal government staffing, that the only GOP candidate that would put this country in the black is...Ron Paul: So, for all of the doublespeak coming from GOP candidates about deficit reduction, the only GOP candidate that seems to be able to walk the walk is Ron Paul, to the tune of only (yeah, only...) $2.2 trillion. The elephant in the room that isn't GOP-related? Obama's current budget proposal, left untouched with his tax proposals, beats both what Romney and Santorum have put up for plans, as it actually decreases the deficit by $1.2 trillion in the same timeframe. http://www.washingto...pm_business_pop
