  1. The last thread (HERE) stopped being updated almost three years ago, before Bo's final season and the advent of the Riley Era. We have more excuses now. We need to list them here, so we're all current on why/how we're good enough/not good enough, what we're doing right/wrong, and why it is/isn't our fault. 2. Will New Extra-Point Rules Cause More Teams To Go For Two? First, the new rule: Extra points will be snapped from the 15 (instead of the 2), making them a 32- or 33-yard kick. Two-point conversion attempts will still be snapped from the 2-yard-line. Both plays will be “live,” meaning defenses can return blocks/interceptions/recovered fumbles for two points of their own. During the past two seasons, according to Pro Football Focus, NFL place-kickers converted 97.6 percent of all kicks between 30-35 yards when lined up in the middle of the field. To put those figures in context, let’s plug them into the 2014 season. At 97.6 percent accuracy, we would have seen 1,200 of 1,230 extra points converted. Instead of eight misses, there would have been 30. Conservatively, the new rule should result in at an extra missed PAT a week or so. Maybe some of those will end up mattering; maybe none will.
  3. Bo mentioned neutral site games today in his presser. Do you think this would be a good idea financially? Would it be good for national recognition/recruiting exposure? Who would like to play and where? I saw a few suggestions on Twitter about playing Oklahoma in Arrowhead. Doesn't seem like a bad idea to me.
  4. Was reading an article and they were talking about some of the things that plague Nebraska every season. Which do you think will go away, which are here to stay? On the opposite side of that (so this doesn't end up 100% downer topic), do you expect anything exciting and spectacular this season? #boredatwork

  6. Jason Whitlock apologizes for his unfunny Jeremy Lin comment on Twitter You're an NBA fan. Dissatisfied with the typical online outlets, you're coming to an NBA-obsessive blog on a Monday to read more than what the more orthodox NBA media outlets are giving you. You search and you scour for takes and columns and Tweets and video and you'll do it all again come Tuesday morning. Tell me, have you ever read a Jason Whitlock column on the NBA? Do you even think to go to him when NBA news breaks? Jason Whitlock knows this. He's also an unfunny boor with a massive ego, and the combination of those factors plus his NBA irrelevancy leads to Twitter comments like this, in the wake of Jeremy Lin's brilliant 38-point performance against the Knicks on Friday night: "Some lucky lady in NYC is going to feel a couple of inches of pain tonight." There are funny jokes, and then there are unfunny jokes that mix with needless racial stereotyping and the laziness that comes from not even bothering to look up the fact that the Knicks would be flying to Minneapolis directly after Friday's game. On Sunday, after much criticism and derision, Whitlock came through with an apology of sorts: I then gave in to another part of my personality - my immature, sophomoric, comedic nature. It's been with me since birth, a gift from my mother and honed as a child listening to my godmother's Richard Pryor albums. I still want to be a standup comedian. http://sports.yahoo....-145934497.html What kills me about this "incident," is that Whitlock is always one of the first to throw out the race card/stereotyping angle when it benefits a "story" of his.
