An open letter to all Husker football fans: Dear fellow Husker Fan, I too am livid at the current state of affairs in Lincoln. Many records have fallen since the beginning of this experiment. But one important record, THE most important record, is on us. A record that defines us. A record that all others would love to emulate. Our sellout streak. I'm on bended knee asking, begging, pleading to continue to purchase game tickets and root for your team or give a chance to others who will. To bide time. Harvey Perlman is gone. Rejoice. So our return is imminent. The new command wants it as bad as you. So hold tight, keep attending, and savor the changes upcoming. And think how glorious it will look in 2020 to see on TV: OUR 375th CONSECUTIVE SELLOUT. Instead of seeing in that same year and on that same TV: OUR 4th CONSECUTIVE SELLOUT. Hang in there fellow Husker Fan. Help is on the way. GBR
After taking a month off, the Husker Football Fan Podcast is back for our second season! Episode 1 is a preview of the Oregon game with Kirk Carpenter, a lifelong Oregon fan from the west coast. We discuss the matchup, talk about the Ducks’ recent coaching changes, and look at their fall schedule: Direct link to listen: http://traffic.libsyn.com/huskerpod/S02E01_-_Oregon_Preview.mp3 Podcast episode page: http://huskerpod.libsyn.com/s02e01-oregon-preview You can also subscribe on iTunes. We have a number of interviews lined up, so we're going to continue with a weekly format for the month of July. Next week we'll be publishing an interview with Kyle Jones of Eleven Warriors (Ohio State's Huskermax equivalent), and after that will be Zach Pereles of Inside NU (SBNation's Northwestern beat). And as if that wasn't enough, we also just published a midsummer update discussing the Friday Night Lights camps and the state of the sellout streak. This is a different format from what we did during the season, so we're open to constructive criticism. Thanks for listening
