Popular Post floridacorn
That was a brutal outing, but 1 play in particular would drive me nuts if I'm the coaching staff. I believe it was in the 3rd quarter, but the play was a shallow cross screen. Fidone blocks Lloyd's man off the LOS, Lloyd comes underneath Fidone and crosses down the LOS, and the receiver running a shallow cross from the opposite side also blocks coverage LB's. All legal because Lloyd is crossing at the LOS. HH dropped back in a clean pocket & just as Lloyd is about to break free & into a ton of open space, HH inexplicably climbs in the clean pocket and runs himself into a sack with eyes down field the entire time. Any pass that doesn't go to Lloyd turns all those blocks into penalties, because they were blatant blocks, not subtle picks. So what in the world was HH looking at, and why did he abandon a clean pocket while the screen was being set up? IMO, you can only assume he wasn't aware what they were running & that the receiver down field was just clearing out coverage. As frustrating as the endless array of the inaccurate passes were, they can be accounted for. That play isn't mechanics, it's between the ears. 6 1 1 2 Quote Link to comment

In looking at the top 20 on the list, I could see a couple guys who might be willing to move to the BIG. Oregon States QB and the QB for Liberty (Kaidon Salter) who appears to be a good fit for Rhules offense. Salter has 19 TDs and 3 INTs and is a sophomore. https://www.espn.com/college-football/qbr The Oregon State guy may be possible Because they have a freshman they really like. But he’s already transferred once so that doesn’t seem like a good option. He’s also a really big dude. Given our line probably won’t improve over night I’m sure he’s be a mobility concern. Theres been some rumors around the QB at Tulane. His stats and highlights are impressive. Quote Link to comment

MSU has to commit more players covering receivers. And….if we have a QB doing that, we win by at least two TDs. Quote Link to comment

Dylan Raiola is still in high school. He wouldn't be doing us much good right now. 1 Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Despite missing some throws badly, HH was actually not that bad on short and intermediate throws. Throws 0-10 yards: 5/9, 47 yards, 5.2 ypa Throws 10-20 yards: 4/8, 86 yards, 10.7 ypa Not spectacular, but solid. Should have hit a couple more but missed open receivers. The behind the LOS throws were a mess, but not really HH's fault. They were just all over those passes, especially early. Behind the LOS: 3/4, -4 yards, -1.0 ypa It was the deep throws that killed us. Throws 20+ yards: 0/5, 2 INTs (should have been 3) Yikes. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Vizsla1
Sounds like Simms is ok with being ok...maybe this has been covered already, but he has "asked" not to be put in anymore so he can retain his legibility to play more seasons elsewhere. Quote Link to comment

I did not think he was that bad early, but with the injuries the majority of our offense is FR & SO. Quote Link to comment

I'm curious where you're hearing that? I think on reddit early in the season a GA Tech fan said something exactly like this would happen. They said Sims never played in a major game, and basically shrunk away from the spotlight when games got tough. He some how always ended up on the side lines. Quote Link to comment

Yeah...those behind the LOS passes along with the run game would be way easier if the defense needed to commit more guys to defending the long passes. But, when they can put one guy in single coverage with all of our WRs, it becomes to easy for them. 2 Quote Link to comment
