Nebraska will never be good again because of Nebraskans. We are probably getting Trumped as far as NIL goes, saying we have the money when we don’t. Interesting premise, but you lost all credibility when you brought race and Donald Trump into the conversation. There are many black head coaches who, when given their opportunity, did an average job. I'm thinking specifically of Willie Taggert, Turner Gill and Kevin Sumlin. Hiring a black coach isn't some guaranteed path to a winning record and championships. Race should never be a factor when deciding who to hire; who gives us the best chance at winning should. As far as Donald Trump goes, I have no idea what he has to do with college football and the Husker football program. It seems like you have a racial/political agenda. As far as Adidas, their designs suck; boring and uninspiring. Nike and Jordan have far superior designs and creative teams. But I will say this: Adidas make great soccer cleats. 2 2 2 Quote Link to comment

Instead of coming up with open minded responses you disregard what you don’t want to hear. Just because we don’t want to hear your bulls#!t doesn’t mean we don’t have an open mind or are locked in a bubble. It just means we don’t suffer fools and whiners and are sick of these stupid effing threads. 8 Quote Link to comment

Like it or not, Nebraska has a reputation for not hiring Black coaches. While it's true that white hires were the best hires at the time, it's still something the media grabs on to which effects the national perception of the Huskers. Like it or not... The Trump metaphor was easy. ALL politics aside, Trump is well known for inflating his wealth and self-importance. Seems like you might be getting a little bent out of shape at the wrong things here... 1 2 Quote Link to comment

As far as the Adidas thing goes, why are we not wearing what Americans wear? Nike and Jordan Brand are on all the top programs and are American brands that kids these days wear outside of the middle of the country. Push these thoughts around and they might come true and change the reality of the program. I think the logo on the jersey is pretty low on the proverbial totem pole of "sh*t we need to worry about" 3 Quote Link to comment

Imagine how bad they’d be if they had an adidas logo. 1 2 Quote Link to comment

Doesn’t Rhule have a contract for like $9 mill per year? We bought about as big a name in the off-season money could buy not named urban Meyer. Now will he pan out idk. But it was a proven college coach who was just in the NFL so you can’t act like we hired mike Riley again 7 Quote Link to comment

And just go back to last year when it was actually being pushed as a story with MJ as interim coach. ”like it or not”, it’s something some folks in the media talk about. Quote Link to comment

There just haven't been that many across FBS. That’s not what was mentioned. Nebraska is one of very few colleges in the NCAA that has never had a Black head coach in a sanctioned sport. Mickey was the one and only as an interim position. I don’t think NU is racist. But these stories were out there. From local media and national. It’s not “ridiculous” to recognize reality. 1 2 Quote Link to comment

Well you got the part about not hiring a black HC right. University founded in like 1890. Hundreds of head coaches in all sports. Zero black head coaches Quote Link to comment
