Who will be new AD?

Today’s events beg the   Who will be our new AD?

 

Is there an internal candidate who can step up to the role?

Is there a current coach- John Cook - for example to lead athletics?

Another former player ?
Do we start from scratch with someone who doesn’t know Nebraska? 
It seems to me any new AD will want to put their stamp on the program which

could mess with the upward trend we are seeing in practically every sport.

I think this is a good option. I would also look to one of the 3 ACC schools that voted against conference expansion like Bubba Cunningham from UNC or Mike Alford at FSU.

pederson was a d!(k and moos was an alocholic, so just avoid those 2 characteristics when hiring.

Bubba was a U of Tulsa AD previously and did a great job in Tulsa before moving up.

I think you put Matt, Fred, and John in a room and ask them their opinion on who should be hired.

One thing about it - Nebraska, athletically, is a better place now than what it was a few years ago.   No major coach challenges - such as firing and hiring,  a building program, etc.  So I think the job would be an attractive spot for someone wanting to move up but not move into a crisis situation  - unless of course, the political side is unbearable.

Frank Solich! Former Husker great, check. Understands the pressure of being the head coach, check. Understands the repercussions of making rash decisions, check. Officially end all chances the curse still exists, check!

The Interim president will be making the hiring.  We have a president, just not an official one.
