runningblind
Can't recall the last time I saw a team with a losing record over several games still be in the top 10 of any poll. Even with stiff competition you should need to earn your way back up and reward teams who haven't lost repeatedly with a higher ranking. Quote Link to comment

I don't think it's right to have a 2-3 team in the top 10 in any scenario. At the end of the year if they are a few wins behind someone else, I agree that can make a difference then. So if a team lost to #1,2 and 3 but beat #4 and 5, they shouldn't be ranked in the top 10 at all? 1 Quote Link to comment

Later in the year sure, that will be a resume boost, but IMO you shouldn't be a top 10 team with a .400 winning percentage. Winning and losing in sports has to count for something. Are you a fan of being the greatest 3-9 team of all time? Quote Link to comment

Not sure what the point of the question is, but given that's a title bestowed upon Nebraska football, I have to say yes. Doesn't mean I was happy about it. Doesn't mean I was mad about it. That question also diverges from the topic at hand. 1 Quote Link to comment

People were trying to prop up a team perceived as much better than their record. That's precisely what is occurring here. I'm not saying Wisconsin isn't a top 10 team, I simply think the ranking needs to be earned and kept with wins. If you're schedule is super tough, yet you lose the majority of the games that isn't enough in my eyes when other teams are undefeated. If records are similar, it does provide the edge. 1 Quote Link to comment
