What did we learn Illinois edition

You can taunt a kicker and it’s not taunting. Like they kept showing it each time they went to commercial!

He didn't even have to be taunted, he wasn't even close to making that FG, even if we had our normal kicker we probably would have missed unfortunately.  Our kickers are dog crap, they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

What we had to choose from on offense tonight:

Raiola throwing: 35 times, 8.1 yards per attempt

RJohnson running: 4 times, 4.3 yards per attempt

RJohnson receiving: 2 times, 7.0 yards per attempt

What did we do the second-most times (after Raiola throwing)?  Have Dowdell run it 20 times.  All of 3.6 yards per attempt.

But, by all means, if something isn't working, keep banging your head against the wall.

There is zero imagination in the run game.  It’s just run up the gut over and over and over.

I understand your point to a degree but would the other backs have had the same success they had if they had the attempts Dowdell did? If you pick out his best 4 runs it probably looks alot better for him.

I don’t understand what happened to the defense.  No excuse for letting Luke freaking Altmeyer look like Peyton Manning. And also just giving up gashing run play after gashing run play.

The back 8(sans Bullock 96% of the time) play hero ball trying to come in and make a huge hit instead of keying on their assignment.  Any OC in this conference should run every misdirection package they have

Also curious about inside vs outside runs and yardage.

I also learned that we don't know how to set a corner. And our halftime adjustments are non-existent

But, but, but that's just playing smart.  Just keeping the lead.  BS. That's who we are and it showed tonight.  Our 2nd halves are bad because the OC is bad.  Satt, McGuire and Ed would get a long hard review in the off season.

1. Satterfield needs to step it up.

2. Offensive line needs an overhaul.

3. We need a kicker. How is this still a thing?????

4. Defense scheme in the second half was atrocious.

1. Satterfield wasn’t the issue, the Blackshirts were, stop with the misplaced blame BS.
