BoSolich
raiola is great, but we only got him cause his dad played here and we are paying him a fortune. the rest of the team is no different than what we've seen the last 15 years. mediocre talent that will be lucky to have 1 player get drafted. we may win 7 games cause of raiola, but make no mistake the program hasn't changed. 1 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post Hammerhead
To be fair, those are teams that a Scott Frost squad would've struggled against, if not outright lost to. We're better. We're not back, but we're better. 11 3 Quote Link to comment

Yes, I read it. If Raiola makes the team better, then the team is better, so I don't see why that matters. Regardless of the reason, we have a real QB for the first time since Joe Ganz. That's something. 2 Quote Link to comment

I’m curious, since you seem to be in the know, how much exactly are we paying Raiola? A “fortune” is a little abstract and subjective. So what’s the number? 1 1 1 Quote Link to comment

We weren't getting anybody because of how good the program is. I'm not concerned with why Raiola is N, and I don't think that's anyone else's business. 1 1 1 Quote Link to comment

So, it must also be your point that legacy players don’t often choose the school their dad or brother or uncle also played for. That seems to be a false premise. Or maybe it’s just rotten luck that a talent like Dylan Raiola came along when he did. Also a ridiculous premise. Since you haven’t answered the question about the amount of the “fortune” we are “paying” Raiola, well, it kind of damages the credibilty and believability of your whole point. Cornfed
These type of doomsday posts are so annoying. We lost to a good team on our journey to being “back.” So freaking what. Success isn’t a straight line. The trend line is most definitely improving tho, which is all we can really ask for. 7 1 Quote Link to comment

Is it really though? QB situation is far better. But defense has taken a step back. Looks like the same old mediocre program. Quote Link to comment

It’s ok. We’ll get an ice cream cone on the way home. That’ll make things at least a little better, right? Now show me a smile… 1 Quote Link to comment
Cornfed
It’s entirely possibly that Illinois ends up being a very good team. There’s a lot to be seen yet. Jumping to conclusions already is silly. 1 Quote Link to comment

Agree…. @BoSolich impressive post loss analysis. Quote Link to comment
presidentjlh
I’m skeptical that Illinois is that good, they barely beat a bad KU team. We’re on that same level: bad KU team. 2 Quote Link to comment
