Jason Sitoke
I know we hate Bert, but the guy can coach. He molds an identity and his teams play hard, smart, and tough. 4 Quote Link to comment

We’re on that same level: bad KU team. I don’t think illinois is very good. I personally think our defense has some big issues. The inability to consistently play special teams is obviously an issue, but illinois getting 5.8 yards per play is nasty. They punted twice I think. 2 Quote Link to comment
El Straino
WAAAAAAAAAA The sky is FALLING!!! Flee for your lives!!! Did you HEAR? Some players are getting PAID? No one buys newspapers anymore! Roundabouts frighten me! Abandon your posts! The price of beef jerky is too high! Well, ok, that last one is true. WAAAAAAAAAAA 1 5 1 Quote Link to comment

I assumed most of the "we're back" comments were kind of made in jest. Obviously it's going to take some time to rebuild after the worst era of Husker football since before Devany. At least the goal of the rebuild now is putting together a good team in 4-5 years, rather than hoping we can fluke our way into a .500 record in 4-5 years. 2 Quote Link to comment
chamrocck
In the back of my mind I fear we put everything into that CU game. Probably preparing all off season. We had to absolutely win that game or else it would have been a major meltdown. And to win that game impressively really got the fanbase excited. To lose to Illinois at home is a setback but not something we can’t overcome. The next two games are must wins. We simply have to surpass programs like Purdue and Rutgers. No excuses. Most players are at their college's because of money. Quote Link to comment
Terrabus
Matt Rhule is a coach not a wizard. He's not Gandolf or Harry Potter. This team is moving in the right direction. I love watching them do better each week at different points. It's the progress we love. That's really the whole point behind sports. We strive and we work to do better in our lives and that is echoed by the people on the field. Sports are more immediate but life is just the same way. This team was never going to go undefeated this season. These games will happen. What this team learns and what this team applies to the next game is what makes the difference. I am totally here for it. Some people need to drink more Kool-Aid. 2 Quote Link to comment
huskerfan92
Take it up with a National Media message board. Any Husker fan with a lick of common sense knew we were far from “back”. Even seeing us ranked I thought was way premature. The goal this year is to develop Raiola and the young talent around him and get us to a bowl game. Last night was disappointing, but I have confidence in this staff to get our players to progress as the season goes on. We’re 3-1 with an OT loss to a ranked team. Undone
It's kind of hard to tell how good Illinois actually is. My biggest concern from the game was Tony White getting outcoached, bad. Hard to say how many points on offense should "be enough" to beat a team like Illinois. I probably would have said 28 points before the game. I predicted a 28-17 win; I think we would have gotten those extra four points had the zebras decided to not call that pass interference on Illinois in the first half on the fade to Neyor. But I was totally wrong about how good our defense was going to be in this one. Yikes. 3 Quote Link to comment

Hagg
The wrecked quality of the team is no longer there. Now it’s more something like second half discipline and needing a serious How To Avoid Getting Flagged Clinic. That’s all lack of great coaching, same as we’ve seen for many years now. But that bit that’s gone is the bit where we were losing games like the three we won this season. Great scores in those games this year, not just one score wins (or one score losses, although that’s what happens one way or the other in O.T.). Quote Link to comment

DrinkinwitTerrellFarley
If it wasn't before, Purdue and Rutgers are now must wins to me to entertain bowl hopes. Wisconsin might be worse but until Nebraska beats them I can't count it. Winning in Iowa City at night as well. Indiana is better than expected and I see UCLA as a tossup. Ohio State and USC would be pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Quote Link to comment
