I hope Mazzccua plays. We could use more bodies on the line.

I would like to see Mazzccua back.  Stefon Thompson on the other hand has not impressed me at all when he has played.

Getting Javin Wright back up and running full go would be a tremendous boon to the LB core.

Apparently they don't want to tweet it because it reflects poorly on Mazzccua, but Rhule was I would say brutally honest in calling Mazzccua a "backup player for us" in that answer about his availability. He even clarified he has been a back since the middle of the Colorado game, and not due to suspension.  I dunno what he did or what the situation is, but he is in the doghouse to a degree that we have not seen any other player get to under Rhule.

Wow...Only 3 seniors in the two deep for the O line.  Coming into the year, I thought they were supposed to be one of the oder groups.

Well we've lost a 4th year Junior (Prochazka) and a 5th year Senior (Corcoran) to injury, and have demoted another 5th year Senior in Mazzccua. So it was coming into the year - still some reasonable depth. 2 underclassmen, 1 of whom played quite a bit last year is still solid.

I know.  It's just that it can change so much.  And....I think they are actually still playing pretty well.

I like this guy's sumaries of press conferences.

- it will be a gametime decision

-Appealing flags is an important to determine what we can and can’t do

-Alex Bullock finds a way to get the job done, he was excellent on special teams

-Brian Buschini had a “heck of a day”

-Coach Rhule admits to not being prepared for how explosive our offense is

- what you’re seeing is other teams slow the game down and keep our offense off the field

-We’ve won the turnover margin in every game, besides a tie for one -Need more sack fumbles

-This offense has the ability to spread the ball around

-Emmett and Rahmir Johnson were excellent in pass pro

- no more excuses

-Rutgers converts third downs at 51%, they’re top 10 in redzone defense

-We need to get the tough yards, 4th and 1, 3rd and 2, etc.

-Last week was not the field goal protection team, it was the snapper

-“We know what to do, and we have the guys to do it, we’ve gotta go do it”

-Dante Dowdell sets the tone at the start of the game, Emmett Johnson and Rahmir Johnson are then explosive at the end of the game

-Gabe Ervin is getting his “swagger back”

-Rutgers RB Kyle Monangai is “like the matrix”

- no one ever gets a solid tackle on him

-We prepared heavily for the outside zone vs Purdue, then they went to the inside

-Rutgers is a difficult run game for us to prepare for

-Lots of difficult challenges for us and our defense

-John Bullock is a 5th/6th year player, and he just keeps getting better

-He’s still a young player in terms of his development as a linebacker

-John’s done a lot of nuanced things to improve as a player

I'm glad I have coach to tell me the part bolded....you know....since I've never played special teams since junior high.
