TGHusker
I should have seen this more clearly: I learned it is the economy or more specifically, one’s perception of the economy, which matters more than all other issues . The GOP did a much better job of defining the economy as dark and dangerous than what the Dems did in highlighting the economic recovery. All of the felonies charges against Trump or his negative words and actions towards democracy were no match to the pocketbook issues. I also learned that character no longer matters in politics and elections. 1 1 Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/103383-the-2024-election-%E2%80%94what-did-we-learn/
Popular Post knapplc
I learned the American electorate is vibes-based and easily manipulated. Biden did an amazing job as president. Our recover from the Covid recession was the best in the world. Our economy is worse than it was four years ago, but better than everywhere else. But because eggs cost more now, America elected a felon because, facts be damned, I feel bad. Elections have consequences. We're going to have a generation of consequences after this one. It's not going to be pleasant. 1 4 5 Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/103383-the-2024-election-%E2%80%94what-did-we-learn/#findComment-2690435
funhusker
Some folks need to learn that the cliche pregame speech about only worrying about things you can control is useful beyond high school. you voted, you did what you can control, now just get ready for the next play. 1 Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/103383-the-2024-election-%E2%80%94what-did-we-learn/#findComment-2690436

Criminal in Chief destroying our federal government. The next play seems like a 4th and 35. 2 2 1 Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/103383-the-2024-election-%E2%80%94what-did-we-learn/#findComment-2690437
teachercd
Is there any chance at all that the next 4 years end up as anything remotely good for us? Right now, I am really interested to see how the market reacts for the next few months. Last time he drove up the deficit more than any president ever even before COVID and I would expect more of the same and probably worse this time around. The longer a Trump ran business goes on the closer it gets to bankruptcy 1 1 2 Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/103383-the-2024-election-%E2%80%94what-did-we-learn/#findComment-2690444

The longer a Trump ran business goes on the closer it gets to bankruptcy I think right now I am most concerned for women. I am so pro-choice(I am pro-abortion really), I hate the idea that some old a$$ men might have the final say in what they can or can't do with their body. 1 1 Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/103383-the-2024-election-%E2%80%94what-did-we-learn/#findComment-2690445

Although it is more about 434 passing. She's a NICU nurse in Omaha and the unit is now expecting at least 2-3 more babies a month that they are going to have to watch die because the pregnancy can't be terminated sooner. 1 Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/103383-the-2024-election-%E2%80%94what-did-we-learn/#findComment-2690446

All I am hearing is complaints because they were up late. We were like, we were to, suck it up! Also, polling data was off again. I would agree with you but then ask did it actually ever matter when we look back at the scandals many of our elected leaders Have had that didn’t come to light till after they left office. Meaning the reporters at the time kept them from us. JFK was a womanizing druggie and he’s celebrated as one of the best ever. Jimmy and Ronald might have been the last two character presidents in quite some time. 1 Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/103383-the-2024-election-%E2%80%94what-did-we-learn/#findComment-2690457

Archy1221
Democrats better figure out why Hispanics are moving in droves towards the Republican Party. That is the voting block to watch moving forward. 2 Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/103383-the-2024-election-%E2%80%94what-did-we-learn/#findComment-2690462
