The Trump family has been in the U.S. for six generations and not sent a single member to the armed forces. The guy you voted for has not made a personal sacrifice in his life and in fact has mocked the military and common soldiers repeatedly. There's a line of combat-tested Purple Heart-earning military commanders out there trying to warn you that the guy you voted for is not the man you think he is. Donald Trump is not brave, or moral, or God-fearing or patriotic. The military vets who have actually worked with the man have told you he's a vainglorious fool and a danger. And all things being equal ----- they're not. A transgender woman using a woman's bathroom does not offset shifting the U.S. political system to a loyalty-driven autocracy. I'd recommend reaching out to your daughter and your brother/best friend. Those are relationships we can't afford to lose, You don't have to agree with them on everything, but you can start by seeing them as more than thin-skinned groupies. 5 2 2 Link to comment
