They can move on. Ya I wouldn't say anything. It's up to Fidone if he wants to say anything, like that he's embarrassed about his granny. 1 Quote Link to comment

Decked
Fidone is just flat out not what he used to be. His skill set is quite limited. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
The coaches indicated they were going to cut down on the number of players to get touches. We also need to cut 40-50 players at the end of the season. We were losing games. Now we won with a good offense and him not playing. Thank you Fidone for your efforts. Other players have passed you on the depth chart. Good luck in the future. There are going to be some players and families upset. That’s life. Move on. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
admo
Thought #44 and Boerkircher played real good. They made plays and blocked well (pass-pro and run-blocking). I did not see a drop-off at TE. We won, beat Wisconsin for once, earned a bowl invitation, and players embraced the victory. All of the hard work and playing together as teammates. I'm cool with that and celebrated Saturday night after the game as well. There was no thought or reason to be upset after that game. None. Quote Link to comment

I think that’s a little soon to be on that take. Fidone just has a more limited skillset it appears in this very small sample size. Quote Link to comment

The offense was not successful before. It was successful in this game. I just don’t feel that sorry for players who are upset at this level because they aren’t getting playing time. Right now there are a lot more players on the team that don’t get playing time than do. And, I really don’t feel bad for a parent that feels it’s appropriate to go on social media and cry about it. 4 Quote Link to comment

It’s big boy football now. They are getting paid and it’s time to perform. No one cares about your HS star rating anymore, no one cares (talking purely from a playing ability standpoint just fyi as most of us care that the players health is good) that knee injuries have hampered your ability, no one cares that you used to be the starter. It’s all about production and who produces the best should be on the field the most. These players wanted paid and treated like employees, and now they get all of what that entails. Thanks for what you have done, hope you can get better, but if not we all wish you well either as a bench player or as a person outside the Husker organization. 2 1 Quote Link to comment

These coaches come in (including Frost) and just don't understand how hard it's going to actually be. How much the pressure in Lincoln permeates the program. We saw Rhule halfway alluding to some of that earlier in the week, talking about the players reading things people were saying. The intensity level was at a fever pitch after the Colorado win for the players, and I think it then fell off after the Illinois loss. For me, that's on Rhule. But somehow we got it back today. And that's what matters. Rhule needs to buckle down and figure out how to bottle it because it isn't easy in Lincoln and it never will be. Would be a bad idea to have a social media ban for players in season? There is so much negativity online and I'm sure it doesn't help seeing. I'm pretty thin skinned. If I read that kind of stuff from complete strangers I'm sure it would get me down. Quote Link to comment

It'll be interesting to see in Dana can find a way to use him as a more downfield threat, or if his playing time at Nebraska is pretty much all gone. Quote Link to comment

ZRod
Anybody who thinks Fidone shouldn't have a role in this offense is crazy. He's still a freak in the passing game despite the knee injuries. His production is up from last year, but he doesn't have any TDs, partly because the previous OC underutilized him in the RedZone this season. He's a liability blocking (though when he does engage he can take on anyone), and that's been a problem throughout his short career, but flexing him out creates headaches for any defense. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

He's a freak because he's 6'6" with long a$$ gorilla arms. His range is crazy and he catches almost everything thrown his way. Again, what kind of "wiggle" is a TE supposed to have? Considering he's 6'6" and 255 on two reconstructed knees he moves pretty well. 1 Quote Link to comment
