teachercd
I remember the Redskins vs the Raiders. Super Bowl 18 I think. I really don't remember much about it I just know it was on TV at my house and my Dad and ones of his friends were watching it and having beers. 1 1 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/104086-what-is-your-first-super-bowl-memory/
admo
I don't remember full game details, just a few plays and players. 1979 Steelers beat Cowboys - someone was open in the endzone and dropped an easy TD from Staubach. Would have won game for DAL. 1980 Steelers beat LA Rams - just remember it being a boring night game, and learning that Vince Ferragamo played QB at Nebraska. 1981 Oakland beat Eagles - I remember Kenny King running 80 yard TD or something like that (former OU stud). Also, HC Flores being hispanic, and QB Plunkett having Native American ancestory. Those years I remember mostly the great Miller Lite commercials with John Madden, Billy Martin, Willy Mosconi, etc.... and Hams Beer (From the land of sky blue water, water).... 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/104086-what-is-your-first-super-bowl-memory/#findComment-2710722
teachercd
Anyone remember when the commercials started to become such a big deal during the Super Bowl? Quote Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/104086-what-is-your-first-super-bowl-memory/#findComment-2710726
JJ Husker
I very faintly recall Superbowl III. Jets (Namath) vs Colts (Unitas in relief). Remember watching some of it on our old grainy b&w TV. I was only about 6 so not really a student of the game at that point but I definitely remember it being on. IIRC my dad didn’t like Joe Namath, Broadway Joe was prob too flashy for him. I was a big Green Bay and Johnny U fan during my early years in grade school. BigRedBuster
Cowboys vs. Broncos Super Bowl XII The Orange Crush against the Doomsday Defense. It was shortly after that the Cowboys tried claiming they were "America's Team". I was 10-12 years old and it still makes me want to puke and I will ALWAYS root against the Cowboys. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/104086-what-is-your-first-super-bowl-memory/#findComment-2710733
knapplc
I can't remember which Super Bowl it was, but I always liked it because there was a lot of family around, grandma made turkey and stuffing, there was pumpkin pie, and the Lions were always playing. 3 Quote Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/104086-what-is-your-first-super-bowl-memory/#findComment-2710744

Mavric
I'm sure I probably watched before this but the earliest one I remember is the Broncos losing to the Giants. Before the Broncos lost to the Redskins. Before the Broncos lost to the 49ers. Quote Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/104086-what-is-your-first-super-bowl-memory/#findComment-2710819

Moiraine
I think it must have been one of the Bills 4 losses in a row. For whatever reason that really sticks out, so I think I actually watched 1 (or more) of them and didn't just read about it later. I also remember developing a dislike for the Cowboys when they were good, so that tracks. I did a project on Don Beebe when I was a kid one of my first memories is the Leon Lett almost touchdown stopped by Beebe Quote Link to comment https://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/104086-what-is-your-first-super-bowl-memory/#findComment-2712208
Lorewarn
The first Super Bowl i have a memory of is XXXI when I was 7, Packers over Patriots, and then Elway's heroics the next year over the reigning Packers. I was really big into drawing sports logos as a kid and remember loving all of the unique logos every year.
