Drowning_in_the_Sea_of_Red
I read that in the paper today too. Something about the Junior College he goes to doesnt give out full ride scholarships and he didnt have the finances to attend this semester or something like that. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Next season is going to be an exciting season for NU basketball. Considering what Doc has done so far it will be great to see what he does with some of his own recruits. Quote Link to comment

CornHunka
Published Wednesday | June 20, 2007 NU Men's Basketball: Smith to transfer BY LEE BARFKNECHT WORLD-HERALD BUREAU LINCOLN - The Nebraska men's basketball team now is only one over the scholarship limit after Tuesday's decision by redshirt freshman guard Mike Smith to transfer. Coach Doc Sadler said Smith will switch to a junior college, with Globe Institute of Technology in New York a likely candidate. Smith is from Bronx, N.Y. Last season, the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder played in 20 of 31 games and averaged 1.4 points. He left the Huskers a year ago to attend a junior college when Barry Collier was still the coach. When Collier resigned and Sadler was hired in August, Smith returned to Lincoln. The Huskers have 14 players signed to scholarships. That number must drop to 13 by the first day of classes in late August. Sadler also commented Tuesday on the status of six incoming players: • Two freshmen already on campus - guard Cookie Miller and forward Alonzo Edwards - have been approved by the NCAA Clearinghouse, making them eligible to play this season. • Shang Ping, a junior college forward-center from Illinois Central College, is in Lincoln but still needs a passing score on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). Ping originally is from China. • Steve Harley, a first-team juco All-America guard, remains in summer school at South Plains (Texas) College trying to become eligible. • Ade Dagunduro is finishing a math class at Antelope Valley (Calif.) College and is expected to arrive at Nebraska for the second session of summer school. Also expected for the second summer session is freshman guard Brandon Richardson from Los Angeles. AuroranHusker
Did he make the grade ? He could be a great one. I am hoping to hear good news! This should be announced in the near future... someone on the roster would be forced out if/when Harley qualifies. Quote Link to comment
