gamecocks
i don't know, it seems that we don't have much luck when we tell a player that he is the only player at a position that we are going to recruit. Maybe if we hinted at it. Link to comment

Eric the Red
Okafor runs Westside's eighth win BY MIKE PATTERSON WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER » Warriors 28, Mustangs 10 - Oct. 13, 2006 » Your Photos - Oct. 13, 2006 On Wednesday, Omaha Westside junior running back Collins Okafor was notified that Nebraska was offering him a scholarship. Westside's Colllns Okafor eludes Millard North's Mike Caputo, No. 65. Two nights later, he reminded everyone exactly why. Okafor rushed for 210 yards and a touchdown as the third-ranked Warriors rolled past No. 6 Millard North 28-10. The win lifted Westside to 8-0 and moved it within one game of finishing a perfect regular season. "I'm ecstatic," Okafor said. "I'm like a kid in a candy store." The victory over the defending Class A champion came in front of 4,500 at Buell Stadium. It also capped a whirlwind week for Okafor, a first-year varsity player who will make an official visit to Nebraska on Oct. 21 for the Texas game. "I love the Huskers," he said. "They're my No. 1 choice right now." By the time Okafor entered the game Friday night, the Warriors already were down 7-0. Mustangs quarterback Nick Argyle ran 68 yards on the second play from scrimmage and Seth Wolfe then scampered eight more for a touchdown. "Those first few plays were kind of scary," Westside coach Marty Kauffman said. "That put us back on our heels a little bit." But a seven-point deficit probably seemed minor to the Warriors, who rallied from 23 down last week to upend Omaha Creighton Prep. Westside tied the game on its second possession, a 76-yard drive that was capped by a 38-yard TD run by Okafor. Millard North regained the lead late in the first quarter on a 29-yard field goal by Tim Weak. But those were the last points the Warriors defense, led by hard-hitting senior linebacker Eric Hagen, allowed. Westside took the lead for good eight seconds before halftime on a 32-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Colt Anderson to tight end Tim Biere. The TD came one play after the Mustangs were whistled for pass interference, a call that was not well received by the Millard North fans. "Those two plays just before halftime killed us," Mustangs coach Fred Petito said. "We didn't bounce back from that very well." Okafor went back to work on the first play of the third quarter, racing 43 yards to the Mustangs 19. Seven plays later, Anderson and Biere hooked up again for a 4-yard touchdown. The Warriors put the game away with 3:02 left when Anderson capped a nine-play drive by crashing over from the 1. The 6-foot-4 senior accounted for three touchdowns, throwing for two and rushing for one. The 28 points were more than enough for the defense, which allowed 143 rushing yards in the first quarter but only 100 the rest of the game. The Mustangs completed just one pass for 3 yards, and that came in the closing seconds. The win obviously was sweet for Okafor, who was asked by a reporter after the game if he could taste a perfect season. "I'm tasting the frosting," he said. "Now we've got to get to the cake." Om.
