Fife
This is interesting. Last year I thought we were sitting pretty well at kicker. Now I feel like we need a little more leg strength because Congdon is no good from 40+ yards. Although he is pretty reliable from there in. Quote Link to comment
gamecocks
Any idea of what this kid's stats are for this year. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
I found this partial evaluation of him on Yahoo: Kunalic is all leg and no mechanics. Right now he appears to be an athlete playing another position who is trying to develop as a kicker Not able to find his season stats yet but I like this: Kunalic was 3-for-3 on the season when kicking field goals of more than 50 yards. In their playoff loss he kicked a 57 yarder!! Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
57 YARDS!!!! Yeah I think that will work............. Quote Link to comment

gamecocks
We can just have him kick long field goals and kickoff while Congdon does everything inside of 40 yards. Quote Link to comment
husker rob
remember thy kick off of a tee in high school, and off of the ground in college and the pros. so a 57 yarder in HS might be a little misleading on leg strength. still has to be pretty strong to get it that far though Quote Link to comment

Fife
That is great to hear. Competition breeds success. We have competition at nearly every position on the field. Now we have it at kicker as well. It can only signify great things for the future. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Welcome to Husker Nation Adi I look forward to all the announcers mispronouncing your name throughout your career like they do Purify,McKeon,etc...... Quote Link to comment
BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
That's good news! If Congdon doesn't increase his leg strength in the off season then Kunalic may see action next year for the longer FGs. Otherwise he'll probably red-shirt and work on getting stronger himself. Imagine having a guy that can kick at 57 yarder!! Quote Link to comment
