My dad had box seats through the Veteran's Administration back in the '70's (for those of you too young to remember, they had box seats in the first rows of Memorial Stadium). The 1983 "Scoring Explosion" team was the first where I really felt like I knew names of players. Had season tickets from 1994 through 2006. 2) What/who led you to The Nation? Entire family has deep roots in Nebraska. Before I was born my dad was stationed overseas. The family would tape radio broadcasts and send them to us. We still have the 1971 "Game of the Century" game on tape somewhere, complete with teenage uncles going nuts at all the big plays. 3) Where are you from originally? Lincoln, Nebraska (East High Spartan) 4) Where do you live now? Deep behind enemy lines. 5) Favorite Husker memory? Dancing in the streets of 14th and "O" after the '94 Championship with 10,000 other fans, hugging and high-fiving all the fans like life-long friends the freezing temps, because the curse had been lifted. All of those years of frustrating bowl losses to faster Florida teams were gone. We were the National Champs! We went home and watched the game over and over on tape, then fell asleep and missed the celebration the next day. 6) Worst Husker memory? Sitting in an nearly-empty Memorial Stadium in 2002 as Colorado stomped us for another agonizing loss, listening to the boos, knowing Husker fans had really given up, yet not knowing we had years of disappointment ahead of us. 7) Number of home games attended? Probably about 100. 8) Number of away games attended? Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missou each three times, plus Notre Dame in 2000. 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? I have a piece of the Memorial Stadium goal post from the 1993 Oklahoma game. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) One year my student tickets were four rows behind the band, row 20. In my opinion there is no better place to see the game. 11) Favorite all time player? Too many to name, but I went to school with Rob Zatechka so it was cool to see a guy I knew out there blocking for Lawrence Phillips and celebrating touchdowns with Tommie Frazier. 12) WCO or Option? Power, with option and passing game thrown in. To win you need to run the ball. If you can pass accurately the offense is nearly unstoppable. 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? Byrne at least responded to my emails and was visible on the sidelines of almost every Husker event. Pederson just hid like a scared little kitten. 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? I hated Li'l Red until I saw him entertain about a hundred cold, wet kids at the 1997 Kansas game (i.e. "The night the lights went out in Lawrence"). He ran and slid across the wet track into a crowd of screaming kids. It was hilarious. After that I figured the guy wasn't all bad, even though he looks totally stupid. 15) Favorite Husker play? Perfectly executed wingback option. Just lethal when called at the right time. 16) Favorite game-day beverage? So about 15 years. 2) What/who led you to The Nation? My 8th grade gym teacher, (Who was a Michigan fan) challenged me to watch a Nebraska game because he noted that I was one of the few Nebraska kids he had ever seen who didn't know a thing about football. 3) Where are you from originally? Millard, Nebraska, (Suburban Omaha) Might have heard of a certain Heisman winner from the same town. I watched him play several times while attending Millard South, Millard Norths rival.. Saw some great football. 4) Where do you live now? Millard Nebraska.. Why leave? 5) Favorite Husker memory? Being in attendance Nov. 8 1997. Columbia, MO. Was in the oppostie endzone of "the Kick" and thought it was incomplete. That was the most dramatic ten second emotional shift I have ever experienced. I remember losing my voice. 6) Worst Husker memory? 2004. Texas Tech, Bill Callahan, and Steve Pedersen are a tie. 7) Number of home games attended? Not sure. Probably around 20. BLUE HAIRS! This will be my 22nd season (I turn 22 November, 17th!!!) 2) What/who led you to The Nation? Husker football has always been a huge part of our family. We are originally from Sidney, NE. It's been like religion to me my ENTIRE life 3) Where are you from originally? I am from Redondo Beach, CA. First generation of my family to not be born in Sidney, NE 4) Where do you live now? Still in Redondo Beach, but my heart is in Nebraska! 5) Favorite Husker memory? Too many to name just one... I'll try to narrow it down though! -"Miracle in Missouri" - "Tooouuch Down, Tommie Fraaaiizzaaaaa!!!!!!" -Staying at the same hotel with the players at the 2000 Fiesta bowl. Got to meet Coach Solich, Eric Crouch, and Lauren Kaiser. I've never met nicer people in my life than the parents of Lauren Kaiser. We were sitting near them at the hotel resteraunt one night, and they invited up to sit with them at the table with a big group of Husker parents and bought my entire family a BIG (and I assume expensive) steak dinner. No other program in College football can offer the Hospitality of the HUSKERNATION! 6) Worst Husker memory? 1996 Loss to ASU. I knew the winning-streak couldn't last forever, but this was the last game my grandpa got to see before he passed 7) Number of home games attended? Not being able to watch the Nu vs miami 2001/02 rosebowl game(i was on a plane) then having to listen to the aftermath on the radio and all the reports of how this was the end for the huskers as a power. 7) Number of home games attended? 2 all against Colorado-all wins 8) Number of away games attended? 2 and 1 bowl game, and one more when i head to blacksburg sept. 19 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel?
