First post. Been a Huskers Illustrated member for a couple years, but my membership's running out and I can't afford another year. I've been lurking here for a while anyway as I enjoy the discussion.

 

1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation?

Since I was 10 or 11 (about 10 years)

 

2) What/who led you to The Nation?

My Grandpa (UNL grad), his brother played FB back in the 50s

 

3) Where are you from originally?

Virginia or Alaska, take your pick. Family originally from Wolbach, NE

 

4) Where do you live now?

Utah (just moved in May)

 

5) Favorite Husker memory?

Fiesta Bowl thrashing of FL

 

6) Worst Husker memory?

USC 2 years ago. Really thought we might be headed in the right direction until that game.

 

7) Number of home games attended?

1, I've lived hundreds of miles away my entire life, but drove 24 hours round trip last season for the Mizz game. Even though we lost, it was just an amazing experience.

 

8) Number of away games attended?

0, my newlywed wife and I get to fly for free (her dad was a pilot), space available of course, so I'm hoping to up this total as well as the one above.

 

9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel?

Gotta be my hoodie

 

10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.)

My own couch. Looking for a watch site in Salt Lake or Ogden, UT if anyone knows of one (especially for PPV games).

 

11) Favorite all time player?

I'm pretty young, so I can't reach too far back, but Tommie Frazier was just amazing.

Longtime lurker, first time poster. What better time to join than at the beginning of the season?

 

1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? Since birth.

2) What/who led you to The Nation? The parental units.

 

3) Where are you from originally? I grew up a Navy brat, so there isn't that original hometown thing going for me. But I've adopted Bellevue, NE as my hometown.

4) Where do you live now? Lincoln, NE

5) Favorite Husker memory? I have two: demolishing Florida for the '95 NC, and watching the '97 Championship while in Japan.

6) Worst Husker memory? A little era I like to call the Callafark. You can insert more colorful language at your discretion.

7) Number of home games attended? I've lost count.

8) Number of away games attended? Every Iowa State and Kansas away game since 2001, along with a Big XII Championship, the '05 Alamo, Cotton, and Gator Bowls.

 

9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? The t-shirt I got for the '96 Fiesta Bowl. It's a child's size small, though...may not fit so well anymore.

 

10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) Either in my family's season ticket seats in North Stadium, or the Student Section.

 

11) Favorite all time player? Tommie Frazi-ahhhh.

 

12) WCO or Option? The Option. It's not like the WCO really got us anywhere.

 

13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? Why is this even a choice?

 

14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Herbie. Although I find Lil' Red to be amusing at times. (Not ALL the time.)

 

15) Favorite Husker play? Jeez, do I have to choose one? Probably Tommie's "how-many-Florida-defensive-players-does-it-take-to...?" moment in the Fiesta Bowl. More recently, Alex Henery's 57-yarder last season. I hadn't seen the stadium so electrified in a long while.

16) Favorite game-day beverage? Depends on the temperature at game time. (Seriously, it can only be water when it's 90+ degrees!) But I guess a soda is best.

17) How did you find HuskerBoard? (referral source) Don't really remember. Google, mayhaps? Longtime lurker...

Hi, just dropping in from Chicago. Sure miss gameday in Lincoln these days...last time I went to a game Callahan was coach :-/ My husband is from Scotland so I'm gradually getting him into Husker Nation, and he seems to enjoy it. Can't wait to be able to take him to a game...he's taken me to see his favorite team in the UK and it is nowhere near as great as a Saturday afternoon in Memorial Stadium :-)

5) Favorite Husker memory? - Seeing Schlesinger charge into the end zone, for NU to win the 94' Orange Bowl.

 

6) Worst Husker memory? - As bad as TT beating us 70 - 10 was, I think seeing CU bowl over us in 2001 spelled the beginning of dark era :-p But if you talk about off the field, the day Brook Berringer died was a pretty hard one.

 

7) Number of home games attended? - Only 2!

9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? - Blackshirts hat

 

10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) - The Bird's Nest in Chicago, and back in NE with my dad at home.

 

11) Favorite all time player? - Mike Minter

 

12) WCO or Option? - Option...that is what won us 3 National Championships :-)

 

13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? - No brainer...Billy Byrne.

 

14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? - One of my friends was Lil' Red, so I have to go with him. Even her Athletic Department ID had the photo of Lil' Red on it (instead of the normal student ID photo!)

 

15) Favorite Husker play? - Whatever gets us to the end zone.

 

16) Favorite game-day beverage? - one of the Empyrean Ales from Lazlo's when available, but normally I'm just a good ole' Coke Zero person.

6) Worst Husker memory? Maybe even harder question... 2002 Texas game... right after the great punt return by DeJuan Groce, we throw the interception... (as for more recent... ughhh)

 

7) Number of home games attended? Around 30? (Every home game since 2006 plus some others)

 

8) Number of away games attended? 7 (2006- ISU, Big 12 Champ, Cotton Bowl. 2007- Mizzou, ISU. 2008- KSU, Gator Bowl.)

 

9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? 2001 Blackshirt poster signed by almost every player to line up on D for us that year. (I realize the last two games of the season may be reason for this to go down on my list... But I received this signed poster courtesy of Groce...)

 

10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? Anywhere in the Stadium... but variety is good (being able to stay home and watch an away game is also very enjoyable).

 

11) Favorite all time player? Probably DeJuan Groce, especially after getting to know him.

 

12) WCO or Option? I'm not a fan of the full WCO, nor the old Option. But if I had to chose I'd go with the Option.
