I read one topic (and as far as I know thats the only one) saying that if Solich was the coach this wouldnt have happend.

Ok, im OK now. Anyway. We would have gotten KILLED EVEN WORSE with Frank because his recruting sucked, let alone his coaching.

Bill can at least recruit.

Living in Lawrence, this reminds me of the KU coaching bill self. Hes a terrible coach but can recruit brilliantly. Thats what is saving his job. The talent he has stacked up down here is making it so his crappy caoching evens out.

Not saying Bill is a crappy coach, not saying hes great, but hes better then Frank for sure.

There are only 2 coaches in the whole universe-- Solich or Bill... that's all. There were never any other coaches ever anywhere. If anyone thinks that BC sucks, the only other option is Solich. That's all. If BC leaves or is fired, we have to take solich back because, like I said, he's the only other coach in the universe.

 
I’m as optimistic as any Husker fan out there, BUT, last season proved to me that Bill can’t coach his team through a big game. We got spanked by OSU. We had Texas on the ropes and one turnover didn’t lose that game. OU is a bad memory. And Auburn. We could have beaten them by two touchdowns, but they weren’t very good anyway.

I really have my doubts that Bill will put together a NC team because of his coaching and his assistants. Coz is the main problem and Bill needs to allow more input from his OffCoord. What’s the point in having one if you don’t use him. Frank had the same exact problems, but Bill has better talent to work with.

What is it with you apologists and that game? KSU is nowhere near the level now that they were then. You do remember they beat an OU team that year that was being heralded as one of the greatest evah for a Big XII title, don't you? If you think we're any better now than in 2003, you're delusional. You're the kind of fan that contributes to mediocrity.

This guy is right. K-State is still beating us 38-9 at home.

That was the K-state that was ranked #4 before their QB (or was it RB? Now I don't remember for sure) got injured, he came back in time to kick the crap out of us and then stomp on a great OU team. That team could have been in the NC; their record looked like crap before they played NU because their star (essentially their team) wasn't on the field.

ED-- Roberson, duh. Roberson and Sproles were weapons.

That K-State team was very good, but it was 7-7 at halftime, we were hanging with them. It could have been a MUCH closer game. Solich was never able to finish games strong, IMO.

I'm not trying to take sides in some BC vs. FS argument, just my 2 cents worth. It was really embarrassing to have to sit through that game. I make it to a game once every few years, and to sit through that beating was awful. Not that those of you who were lucky enough to go to last nights game didn't feel the same way!

 
Why? I can't know why. It's a futile argument that really has no end. Every time Nebraska loses, the same questions will be asked and the same issues will be re-hashed for the billionth time.

Oh, I agree. I've never even brought it up myself, but I sure as heck understand why it gets brought up. Once (and if) your hero Callahan actually exceeds what FS did, it will go away forever. I guarantee it.
