SECHusker
On Thursday, ESPN affiliate InsideTexas.com reported that Under Armour All-American linebacker Corey Nelson (Dallas, Texas/Skyline) had a top three of Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Stanford. LSU and Texas were the other two schools in his top five, which was released earlier this week. We are out of it according to espn. Under Armour All-America linebacker Corey Nelson (Dallas/Skyline) is focused on five schools right now. "The five are Oklahoma, Texas, LSU, Texas A&M and Stanford, in no particular order," Skyline recruiting coordinator and defensive backs coach R.J. Bonds said. "Just on the outside looking in, we have Oregon, Tennessee, Miami (Fla.), North Carolina and Oklahoma State." Nelson has made unofficial visits to Norman, Austin and College Station. He could visit Baton Rouge later this summer and plans to head to Palo Alto officially. Bonds offered a sneak peek at the next steps in the decision process for Nelson. The trip to LSU will be his last summer visit, then it's off to the schools in the mix on game day. "Basically all schools are the same during the summer," Bonds said. "There are no students there, and it's dead. There are players there just working out and that's it. A player needs to experience that Saturday atmosphere, everything from the pregame meetings to the atmosphere at the game. They may find that special thing about that school and decide." For Nelson, academics will mean a lot in his decision. Bonds said that Texas A&M and Stanford have strong selling points there, but that with Oklahoma, LSU and Texas' on-field success that they were just as strong (and it's not like any of those three schools have a bad academic reputation). "I really don't think he has any bad choices here," he said. Link Quote Link to comment

Danimal
committed to Texas A&M Wow, that is a big get for them. They're on real roll of-late. I don't get it. I can understand being interested but I'd have a wait-and-see attitude towards ATM if I was a major recruit. Quote Link to comment
redout22
A&M always recruits early. This is kind of a late get for them Quote Link to comment

chamrocck
This kid looks like he could be a hybrid stud in our defense. Pelini's would definitely get the most out of him...I am intrigued. Hopefully he reconsiders and gives us a serious look. Quote Link to comment
