Rivals Post-Spring Rankings

The only players we have ranked on here are Suh at the #7 DL and McNeil at the #7 TE......Helu got robbed

Rivals

Rivals sucks. Suh is a much better DT and McCoy.

+1

Suh played with lesser talent and absolutely murdered McCoy when it comes to production. You put Suh with Austin English, Demarcus Granger, Jeremy Beal, Adrian Taylor, Frank Alexander, etc., and it would be a wrap as far as crushing offensive lines.

McCoy: 30 tackles (14 solo), 11 TFL, 6.5 sacks, 1 INT, 2 BrUp, 2 QBH

Suh: 76 tackles (39 solo), 19 TFL, 7.5 sacks, 2 INTs (both returned for TDs), 3 BrUp, 7 QBH, 1 FF, 2 blocked kicks ... 1 receiving TD and a flattened Cody Hawkins :)

Seriously, how is McCoy rated better? Hell, how is anyone rated ahead of Suh?

McCoy was #1 in HS, his team blows teams out, so he plays less snaps, while Suh's team losses more and have plaid in more close games.

Would make more sense if you had the stats to back that up? How many more snaps did Suh play than McCoy? Oklahoma's offense scored quickly most of the time, so that would mean the defense was on the field more. Sure, they played a a few games close; against the likes of Chattanooga, Washington and TCU (all offense powerhouses :sarcasm) giving up 2, 14 and 10, but the majority of the season they gave up 21+. That doesn't hold much of a candle to your argument that McCoy had less opportunity. By giving up a lot of points, meaning more first downs and not alot of 3 and outs, that would equate to more snaps. So, because his team's offense contributed more to blowouts, doesn't necessarily mean the defense didn't share it's time on the field and McCoy didn't get his share of the snaps.

When you score 54 and give up 34 you still win by 20! If he plays the same position as Tommie Harris, he isn't gonna get stats, just like Harris never did at OU!

Your argument still remains invalid. Show stats that rectify the huge discrepancy between Suh and McCoy's production. Just saying that OU won by 20 doesn't prove that McCoy had less snaps or that he would have done any better with an equal amount of snaps.

Ok, let's do some quick math here...

McCoy played in 14 games, Suh in 13.

Let's go with your "he didn't play as much" theory, and just for kicks and giggles, let's assume he only played in the first half of every game, even though that's not true. Let us also assume he would perform just as strongly as he did in the first half of said games. So, we'll double McCoy's stats, and multiply by 13/14 to account for the extra game leaving us with...

THEORETICAL McCoy: 56 tackles (26 solo), 20 TFL, 12 sacks, 2 INT, 4 BrUp, 4 QBH

Suh: 76 tackles (39 solo), 19 TFL, 7.5 sacks, 2 INTs (both returned for TDs), 3 BrUp, 7 QBH, 1 FF, 2 blocked kicks

So, even with our ridiculously unfair (against Suh) theoretical situation...

Suh would lead comfortably in Tackles, Solo Tackles, QB Hurries, Forced Fumbles, and Blocked Kicks.

McCoy would lead in Sacks, Tackles For Loss, and Pass Breakups (Sacks being the only one by a wide margin)

They would break even in INTs.

Stats aren't everything, but the numbers speak for themselves. Even if we don't want to say Suh us superior, it would be hard to argue that McCoy is superior to Suh.

Helu didn't get robbed. He didn't play in the spring game is all. Had he played I'm sure he would have been on that list somewhere. :hellloooo

If your backs were Ahman Green, Mike Rozier, Lawrence Phillips... They would be on the list.

Wow, thank you for going out on a limb to throw that out. Hey, I bet Vince Young, Ricky Williams, Roy Williams (both OU and UT), and Rashaan Salaam would be to.....

:wtf
