Ohio Pete
Fifty bucks here's the next recruit to commit if the coaching staff let's him. Rivals headline sounds pretty good: Johnson stands out at NU camp Certainly looks like a defensive lineman: (Yes, that's a High School Junior.) Quote Link to comment
SECHusker
ESPN gave him a 76, and list him as an OG (offensive guard not an "original gangsta", lol jk) Johnson presently plays offensive tackle and although he has the athletic ability for the position his size is not what we like to see at the major level of competition. We feel a move to guard would offer him the best chance for success at the next level of play. Displays good flexibility and initial quickness coming out of his stance; not yet able to overpower defenders but plays with a flat back, rolls his hips with a good base and the leg drive enabling him to sustain and finish blocks very well. Demonstrates the athleticism to block 2nd level defenders and pull / trap; plays on his feet well, with balance and the ability to adjust to movement. Does a nice job reach blocking, maintaining contact and gaining leverage on sprint out protection. Have yet to see him in pure drop back protection. However his foot quickness leads us to believe he should be successful handling quick movement with in and out of the guard box. We feel his playing strength and explosion as it relates to punch and extension will need development. This is an aggressive, tough battler who plays until the whistle blows. Johnson will not be an early starter or impact player, rather time and a red shirt year will allow him to develop his overall strength and size along with the opportunity to polish his technical skills; eventually becoming a solid starter at the BCS level of competition. Red Storm Brewing
Seriously we need a look alike post of this kid and Mack 10, (you know Westside Connection). Too dumb and computer illiterate to do it myself. Like the pic from his myspace page is perfect. Quote Link to comment
gamecocks
Are we recruiting him as an o-lineman or d-lineman? I am sure both sides of the ball could find a place for him. Quote Link to comment

Appears we're looking at him on D, he worked as a DT and DE at camp. But his film shows him on offense, thus the ESPN critique of him as an O-lineman. Quote Link to comment

He's only played D-line for a short period and he's hoping that his coaches will play him there full time this fall. He says he is still very rough but is learning quickly. I like his upside.
