Hello, Please be aware that there is a new North County Nebraska Football Watch Site – the “55 Yard Line” in San Marcos – Restaurant Row on San Marcos Blvd. If you live in North County like me and hate driving all the way to Mission Valley – this is for you! Facebook groups have been established for this North County Watch Site: “North County San Diego Huskers” and for the San Diego Alumni Chapter: “University of Nebraska Alumni Association San Diego Chapter”. Please take the time to get on Facebook – it’s very easy. It also makes our volunteer job much easier getting information to you in a timely manner. We also encourage you to visit the Chapter web site, www.sandiegohuskers.com. Click on e-newsletter to sign up for free e-newsletter, and your e-mail is kept confidential. (We can’t sign you up, you have to take a moment to do it.) Only a few e-newsletters are sent each year. Regarding the September 5th opening game vs. Florida Atlantic…. It may or may not be available anywhere in San Diego. We should know by Sept. 1. Finally, our annual San Diego Chapter Ice Cream Social is this Sunday, August 30, at the beautiful Mission Bay Yacht Club, 2-4 p.m.. It’s free for chapter members and this year we are offering non-members to try us out and attend for just $5/person. The $5 can be applied to your annual membership of $20, if you decide to join.
