kchusker_chris
Article from yesterday here. The state of the USC/Michigan programs is definately having an impact. Whether or not it ultimately deters a top ranked prospect remains to be seen, but they are taking it into consideration. I was stunned that something so simple as Saban sending Westerman's offer letter in a "certificate" form that can be printed out at Kinko's for 2 bucks had a big enough impact for them to mention it. Westermans probably got a 100 awards on his wall, what does he care. Guess it always comes down to the little things. Quote Link to comment
SECHusker
INTERVIEW WITH ESPN http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/football/columns/story?columnist=shurburtt_jc&id=4981981 -looks like its a three horse race with UF, USC, and Texas Quote Link to comment
TheCheshireCat
He said he liked talking to the coaches at USC, UT, and UF yeah... you're probably right that means it's down to those three but I'm clinging to the fact that he didn't mention any favorite schools really... plus Tyler Moore is supposedly recruiting him as well. Keep your fingers crossed. Quote Link to comment
T-Husker
AND...isn't he confirmed to go to the spring game? That is probably the best off-season recruiting tool anyone can use. When he sees how hyped up we all get over a glorified scrimmage, he won't be able to resist taking in a game. That's when we pounce! Quote Link to comment
Redmusky
If he commits early we are out,if he waits until January or later and we have a great season we may have a chance.Huskers may be done on the O line by then, we have at tops 2 O line men left to take Quote Link to comment
GlobalHusker
I think he's in the same status as Owa. If he wants to be N, we make room for him. As for the ESPN article, I will wait to see his comments later. I think interviews can be taken out of context. Sure he mentioned the USC, UF and Texas, but maybe he was asked directly about those 3 schools. If so, then he was just answering a question and not necessarily discussing those 3 schools as his favorites. Quote Link to comment
EZ-E
I'll still hold true to the earlier comments I made. If we get CW I will be pleasantly surprized. Quote Link to comment
ADS
I think hes pretty set on One of the Arizona schools, or Texas. But there is still alot of OL talent out there for Nebraska: Bobby Hart, Jacob Welter, Zach Sterup (depending on performances in camp, and evaluations), Derek Farniok, Cyrus Hobbi and some others. So even if we dont get CW, we will still have a great OL class. Quote Link to comment
Nexus
According to this Westerman committed to UT today. Quote Link to comment
Nexus
Scout also confirmed that Westerman committed to UT. So it must be true. LINK Quote Link to comment
redout22
So does this mean no visit? Quote Link to comment
Nexus
So does this mean no visit? He backed out of the visit yesterday saying he was attending his HS prom. But it appears that it was because he was committing to UT. Oh well. We have Tyler Moore, so we're good. Quote Link to comment
GlobalHusker
Texas?! Texas?? C'mon, man...Texas?!? really.... Texas??? Quote Link to comment
Danimal
Hardly a shocker but still sucks when you don't even get a shot to show what you have to offer. Quote Link to comment
