SIGNED WR Quincy Enunwa

Recommended Posts

I see he is visiting this weekend, but I have heard nothing about him. He only has offers from us and Washington State, which doesn't say much. Does anyone have any info on him or film?

His former team mate is Eric Martin, which he still keeps in contact with him.

He liked the visit to Nebraska.

a little while ago munson was on 1620 and he was saying that enunwa is kinda a late bloomer and none of the colleges really knew about him but he was really starting to make some noise. he said NU and Washington State were the first two but he fully expected several others to join the race. he sounded really high on him so it sounds like it was a damn good pick up for NU. Now the question is do we even take Sasser, Swigert, or Hill.

Yes damnit. Wide receiver is clearly the biggest weakness of our team & we better hit it hard on the recruiting trail. IMO we need 2 make room for Reese, Sasser & Swigert (if they all want to commit, I'd be happy with just any 1 of them).

I think we should take at least 4 WRs this class, provided they are all solid & know how to catch the f&^%ing ball. Cody Green needs some targets

Wish we could throw this guy into our 2-win, 3-loss Huskers. Surprized to see anyone commit to us this week so that is nice to see.

Ah, but the minute a recruit becomes a player, he becomes just another guy we like to take dumps on given the opportunity.

I figure at least 3 WRs. Keep in mind that the 2 we have committed have potential on the other side of the ball, so we could still have room for 2 or 3 more of the WR targets. (Of course it gets to be tough convincing guys to come in with 4 other WRs.)

Wonder if rivals and scout will get around to grading him?

And it's not like he's playing for Podunk high. His teammate Ronald Powell is 5 :star DE at the #1 player overall. Do the evaluators go to john when the offense is on the field?

Anyway, he is their leading WR and 3rd in scoring behind their stud RB, Laron Jackson (1000 yards already) and the kicker (42 PATs!). That said they spread the ball around.

Im not sure I like this.

Surely it closes the window to get guys like Swigert & Reese who are HOT proven commodity.

Hetzer was a JUCO TE, not sure where that comparison comes from...

Just the fact he was a player no one was after and was a bust without playing a down before leaving the program.

Hey I hope the staff found a gem in Enunwa.

the thing is sure maybe enunwa is a gem but i'm tired of the staff always having to risk these hidden gems... is there such a thing today??? why can't we get the etablished guys instead of crossing our fingers with hidden gems... but with that said of course i hope this guys turns out.....

I dont think our coaches would turn down either Swigert or Reese, or at least I hope they wouldn't. Given the current WR situation, we need to start building immediate depth at our weakest position, & even though we have Carter, Enunwa, & Tyler Evans (if they put him at WR), we still need more depth IMO.

Evidently he's a track-guy that just came around to football but is doing damn well against quality competition. The coach knows Carl and sent him film. If there is one good thing about not filling-up early it's that you have the flexibility to make runs at the guys that really bloom as seniors, like Middleton coming out of nowhere last season.

How does a track guy run a 4.64 forty and a 4.74 sort shuttle (these are defensive end numbers) --- should those not be say 4.44 and 4.14 if he is a track guy?

Triple jump and high jump. Track isn't only about running.

So just bc Carter is a one star by scouts standards does that mean that he is a hidden gem? Rivals or scout just doesn't have enough to rate him yet so thats why he doesn't have any stars. If when the rankings for him come out and he's a four star does that mean you guys won't be pissed about taking him?

Does anyone know if he was offered as a receiver or as an athlete? I noticed that Brown and Gilmore are listed as his recruiters, but he has the size and speed to play a whole range of positions. Does he play any defense?

Rivals lists him as a 4.5 guy.

40 times(and other measurables) will vary between sites and between timings, I seem to remember considerable inconsistency about Burkhread's 40. One site had him as like a 4.65 guy and he certainly seems faster than that.

For everyone freaking out about the no stars next to his name, Jeremy Crabtree was on 1620 today and he said he was out at his practice and he said "NU is getting one hell of a player". His coach said that he was sitting behind a division 1 receiver last year so he didn't get a lot of time till the end of the year. His coach said he had a really good winter, a hell of a spring and has had a very good fall this year. If you guys want to listen to it its www.1620thezone.com then just go to the podcasts on the right side. Crabtree also said he thinks we got a major steal here.

I wonder when people are going to get around to rate him?

A couple of weeks ago Crabtree said that Enunwa will definitely be a strong 3-star when they reevaluate him. He called him one of the real sleeper WRs this year.
