UGAHusker
I'll start by saying Gale Sayers. Although he was born in Wichita, he was raised in Omaha and graduated from Central. Ron Kellog (Basketball) ... others?? My dad used to tell me a story that a big reason that Sayers didn't go to Nebraska was because of a party he went to on his recruiting visit. Apparently, he came with a friend to a fraternity house and while he was taken upstairs to the festivities, his friend (who was also black) was not invited up througout the entire party. This seemingly obvious racism apparently turned him off from the Huskers. Of course, who knows if this story is 100% true, but I've heard it confirmed from uncles on the other side of the family. Too bad, that 99 yard TD probably hurt. Quote Link to comment
