Yellowjacketfan
I thought the freshman did well. Going from a HS game one year to the national championship game the next and having 2 TD passes ... respect. Quote Link to comment
redout22
I thought the freshman did well. Going from a HS game one year to the national championship game the next and having 2 TD passes ... respect. Yeah I was surprised how well he did too. Showed a lot of poise out there. Granted he did only pass 25% and had four picks. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
To put Nebraska's achievement of the #1 scoring defense in context, the 2009 defense gave up 146 points in 14 games. The 2007 defense gave up 172 in just its last three games. Thank you, Bros. Pelini. Unfortunately, the flip side of that is that we scored 163 points in those same final three games in 2007. In 2009 we scored 168 points in our final nine games. Let's get this offense in gear and get going as a team. All we need to do is score one more field goal per game (42 points on the season) and we'd have a top 50 offense. That's enough to get it done with this defense. Here's hoping.... junior4949
Ok. After all of those stats though, which would you rather have: 2007 or 2009? Defense wins championships. Granted, we do need more offense. Quote Link to comment
HANC
Apparently, "great defenses only win Holiday Bowl games" not championships... conference or National.......... ** just havin fun.....I agree that defenses win championships, but you need to be able to score a few points and get a few first downs to keep your D fresh (ie....Holiday bowl) Quote Link to comment
