Couldnt find a list but here are some notable ones:

Blaine Gabbert-Mizzou

Josh Freeman-KSU

Jonas Gray-Notre Dame

Bryce Givens-Colorado

Dan Hoch-MizzouTrevor Robinson-Notre Dame

Shaun Mohler-Colorado

Doug Rippy-Colorado

Tyler Gabbert-Mizzou

Simi Kuli-Oregon State

David Ross-Oregon State

Travis Lewis-Oklahoma (maybe THE biggest loss)

Curtis Cater-TCU

Chris Perry-Miami(FL)

Personally this kid was also a big loss. He has been very productive for the Tigers. Even All-Conference honors the last two years. Started as a frosh, could've really helped the depth of the OL. Robinson and Givens also probably would have played a ton here. Who knows how they would have done with scheme NU runs now but the depth would be lot better.

Pretty much you could say that about all the guys on the list. Some have achieved, others have been buried in the depth charts and not lived up to their hype. I know one thing though, if the majority of these guys would've signed with NU that would have meant that the angry midget that doesn't get the bigger NU picture would probably still be coaching here.

Here's a link to the recruiting section of the husker max website. Info on recruits dating back to 1965 and decomittment info for the past 5-10 years. Another kid was Mike Jenkins. Not sure if he ever committed but he was considered to be be a Nebraska lean but signed with USF.

Pretty sure he's the DB who is getting burnt every other play for the dallas cowgirls.

Dan Hoch and Travis Lewis were by far our biggest losses... Travis was my favorite recruit that year and he tore us up in the CCG. Hoch is so solid. Very hard worker as well. Givens sucks and Robinson has his moments. Riley Reiff is one of the best OTs in the Big Ten as well if not the nation. If we could have gotten him, Hoch, Givens and Robinson our OL depth would be tremendous.

Sorry to have hijacked the thread - but thanks for the info. A saddening list. Is this type of attrition typical for a top-25 program?

Absolutely, especially ones that go through a major coaching change.

Michigan isn't exactly the same, because kids transferred rather than decommit, but they lost Ryan Mallett, Steven Threat and Sam McGuffie as well as a starting offensive lineman when Rich Rod came to town.

Miami just lost a couple of high profile recruits, Florida has lost some. It happens.

You also have to keep in mind though that we have benefitted from some other teams losses

Chase Rome, Brion Carnes, Kody Spano, Max Pirman, Givens Mordi-Price, Braylon Heard (hopefully), Yoshi Hardrick, Josh Williams and Ben Cotton just to name a few.

Everyone loses high class prospects, its part of the recruiting game

Remember Seantrel Henderson who originally went to U$C? He's now taken his talents to South Beach or close haha (Miami). Miami just lost QB Teddy Bridgewater and WR Eli Rogers this week. Some players just have second thoughts or like stated before bolt because of a coaching change.

it's not typical. everyone loses some, we've lost an extraordinary amount over the last 10 years. of course, for a good portion of the last 10 years, we weren't a top 25 program. we'll always be a name brand school, so it's not hard for us to get kids to look at us early. however, due to on field struggles, coaching changes and the natural recruiting disadvantages we have, it's understandable that so many kids have changed their minds.

however, now that we have a strong coaching staff, stability and consistent success (three straight years of 9+ wins with improvement each season), i don't expect to see nearly as many decommits going forward. there will always be some though. some of it is just the nature of the game and we will always have to fight our location.

Don't forget we have gone through 3 coaches this decade as well. The Cali leaving alone was responsible for Blaine Gabbert, Jonas Grey, Bryce Givens, Dan Hoch, Shaun Mohler, & Doug Rippy all decommiting.

yes, i mentioned coaching changes. also, i disagree about those kids leaving because cally did. most of them were already headed for the exits due to his nightmare of a 2007 season.

Not sure Callahan leaving alone was responsible for all those guys leaving. Some, for sure. But others, we could have had a fighting chance to keep. Blaine for instance, wanted to come back when Shawn Watson was retained, but we chose to go in a different direction. Pure speculating, but could be part of the reason why they have acted so pettily towards us, but given that, maybe it's best he didn't come through here.

I'm calling bull$*** on this 1. If Blaine Gabbert wanted to recommit, Pelini wouldve taken him.
