Incorrect... I have repeatedly stated that this is a GOOD class without Peat. Not great, not amazing, good. It would have been an excellent one with him.

That said, "good" is not acceptable to me. If it's acceptable for everyone else, fine. But during the season, I don't want to hear all the griping and complaining about how these players can't match up, etc.

Judging by the three pictures in your sig "Good' seems to be acceptable for you.

I'm going to get bashed for saying this, and it's very uncalled for, but everyone here is acting like more of a troll than FLU is. I'm not exactly sure if it's the rules here, but most forums do not allow talks about other members. These posts are very crude and negative and drive people away. It's very sad to see this, especially since this site is one of the biggest husker forums and is one where outsiders come to get info.

Either this board has very loose rules and allows for such crude posting, and is therefore and undesirable forum, or today is a very off today for everyone.

Hate that as you may, but this is childish.

BURN! :laughpound But how dare you call Bret the Hitman Heart 'good'.

Edit: I don't actually know who that is.

I appreciate it, but trust me, I am not upset by this at all. Over the past few weeks, I've found that the majority of the other posters have been very supportive and positive about the things I've had to say. There have only been a select few ignorant sunshine-pumpers (i.e., skerchicago, HuskerFowler) who have repeatedly been critical.

Guys guys guys...FLU's opinion is the only one that matters. He's a coach, lives in Louisiana, and is originally from Pittsburgh. That is the perfect recipe for all knowledge in football and beer.

Sit back, relax and you might learn something.

I've learned three things:

1. LSU will get every recruit in the nation

2. Rolling Rock is crappy beer

3. Nebraska will only win 9 games for the rest of my life

I don't mind if you're upset or not, I'd just like to come to a place where there is Husker talk and not so many degrading posts.

Hate on me all you want for having high standards for my team.

I'm right there with you. I have standards and a bar that I want to hit. And I think you're right that we have a very good class. (I think the walk ons will make it above average when all said and done.) I also have perspective enough to realize there are probably only going to be 5 teams each year that have out of this world type classes. And honestly its alll quite subjective. As much as the sites like to rate these players they are usually wrong more than right. Any guy who really understands recruiting will tell you the success of your class depends on the 1/3 middle of your class. Looking at that I feel we have some pretty good guys. I like it better than some classes above us. I think in the end we have the second best class in B10 behind MU because of those guys. I'm ok with it. Yes...big names are nice. Stars are fun to chase but its that middle of your class that makes or breaks you.

You can't compare this class to all 120 schools (with Furman, Florida Atlantic, etc.). You have to compare it with its peers, which would be Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin. That's not even going out of conference.

I'm not saying we have to have 20 4/5 stars like Alabama, but this class.... is lacking relative to our peers', to say the least.

Doesn't matter how you compare it. It's still not a bad class.

You can't simply focus on the stars we signed. The crucial thing is, did we fill needs? O Line was not a need in this class. LB was a need. QB was a need. CB was a need (and we're short there, although CJ making it to campus will help).

We never signed the top class in the Big 8, either. Seemed to do OK there. We signed a top class once, near as I can remember. Failed miserably with it, too.

Didn't say it was a bad class. I didn't say I was using stars to evaluate it.

However, right now, you can't say it's a great class. That claim can be made after they've achieved success on the field, but right now, you can't compare it to the other elite schools'. It's a fine class as it stands, but with a completely non objective view, I would be hard pressed to say I wouldn't trade it for two dozen other classes out there.

Ha, you have got to be kidding! Please do enlighten us as to which two dozen other classes you would perfer this team brought in. (Not a mythical PS3 roster, but NU's current one.) And feel free to use that "completely non objective view" you spoke of.

Someone seems to be a tad bit angry. Fact of the matter is, this is our class so I'm content with it.

Look at it without a subjective view. Would you really not prefer the likes of:

Texas', Cal's, Stanford's, Michigan's, Ohio State's, LSU's, Alabama's, USC's, Wisconsin's, Missouri's, Oklahoma's, Florida State's, Notre Dame's, Georgia's, UCLA's, South Carolina's, Auburns', Oregons, Clemson's, Miami's, etc?

As much as you think I'm being a debbie downer here, I'm only being objective while your post is on the attacking side and turns guests away from possibly joining this site.

Again, I want to say I'm content with this class and am looking forward to a lot of the recruits we managed to win over. As a whole, it's not a great class as of yet, but they could be in four years from now.

Angry? Far from it, your statement actually made me chuckle a little. Hence opening with a "Ha!"

To answer your question though, no I wouldn't trade a majority of those classes for ours. Manly due to the fact that they don't fit what NU is trying to do. Now of course I might trade ours for a ridiculous class like Bama's, but LSU's no, Mizzou's , no, Wisky's no, and Ucla's.... heck no. But each to his own I guess.
