Easily one of the most impressive WR's I have seen on film this year. Patrick is number 209. His teammate Derrick Woods is a 2012 prospect who looks promising too. This is some film from the Nike camp Patrick participated in, the dude looks like a LB.

Why is this even a question for him? He must be getting interest from some other big timers?

I guarntee other school on the west coast are talking to him, but this seems just like enunwa's process. We got in on him early, built a relationship, he vists, loves it, commits, and stays solid. Being on him early will help alot.

Good physical specimen. He can actually go up and catch a F$$$ing football as well.

He seems to be just like Quincy Enunwa. I love it!

After some early love in the press, Enunwa has all but disappeared. Hopefully he gets some touches as the year goes on and this isn't a wasted redshirt.

Pretty sure his redshirt is still intact. He can play a certain amount without losing it. Maybe someone else more in the know about this can enlighten us on that. But, I don't think he's played nearly enough to have lost that. Think Bo used him to push some of his veteran receivers early in the year by playing him.

Unfortunetly, I'm pretty sure that any amount of playing time means that you can't redshirt. Granted, my source isn't the greatest but it was the best that I could find:

"Contrary to common belief, the redshirt rules state that any amount of participation in a competition will trigger the use of a season of competition, and therefore he/she may not redshirt that season."-Wikipedia on redshirt

Ya, after thinking about it, I think I was getting mixed up with a medical redshirt conversation from this board sometime last year. We were talking about how many quarters a guy could play in order to receive a medical redshirt and it was some percentage depending on how many quarters the team plays during the year I think.

So, never mind, brainfart. Thanks.

Jerry Rice has always been my favorite player of all time, and this kid reminds me so much of him. He will end up playing probably at 6'2" 200 which is exactly what rice was, he has those super long arms and giant mitts for hands... the way he goes up and stabs the ball out of the air with his hands and even the way he runs and uses his feet. Obviously Rice was WAY more polished, but if this kid puts in a fraction of the hard work Jerry did he is going to be a great one.

we seems to get one or two kids who are down for the Nebraska cause.. honestly i dont know much about his kid and am too lazy to research but he seems solid... sometimes i have this needless self guilt like recievers who come here have something wrong with them and thats why they didnt go to another school... i know thats completely irrational but that is how i feel or have felt in the past... who knows the times are a changing.......

I know exactly what you are saying, and sometimes I feel the same way. But I really like this guy, ONE of the guys I want the most.

It seems as though its down to Arizona and Nebraska but Nebraska is his first choice. Lets hope he enjoys his visit to Lincoln this weekend and the game. Also to note is that Patrick is bringing his coach...could it be the same coach who has hinted that Patrick might end up at Nebraska not sure.

Just received an offer from USC.

That scares me a little...hopefully he sees past he name for who they really are. He would fit perfectly into our system.

So you're saying the 4th star should be tacked on shortly?....

Believe it or not, Kent Turene was initially a 4* when he committed to USC over the summer. Then in September, Rivals updated their star rankings and dropped him to a 3*. Scout on the other hand had him as a 3* but boosted him to 4* in September.

Moral of the story: Rivals hates USC now but Scout still loves them.

Turene was definatly worth the 4* ranking, but rivals is sometimes a little wacky with their rankings (see tyler moore).

All of those scouting services are wacky. It's not an exact science. I was just throwing out some hyperbole for perspective in Turene's case for the giggles.

Very true, they all are weird and I think ESPN is the worst at it, in my opinion.

Put it this way, they're all equally fallacious in their methods. But as fans we'll love whichever service gives our guys the highest stars/rankings. Case in point, ESPN has Kevin Williams as a 4* but Rivals & Scout doesn't. On the flipside, Rivals & Scout has Tyler Moore as a 4* but ESPN doesn't.

Meh, whatever....

Honestly I don't buy into the star hype or ratings too much. I was doing a little research of my own yesterday and found the Rivals ratings of all of the Huskers current starters (I was uncertain of a few of our starting linemen so I took ones I know have significant playing time). The Huskers average a 5.6 :star:star:star on offense and defense. Our coaches recognize and see the potential in players and they know how to use it.

I hear ya. I'm happy with whoever our staff gets. They have their reasons for going after the guys that they want. I'll take whoever they get and more importantly I want guys who WANT to be Huskers. Which is why Jamal Turner is such an impressive kid because he seems to REALLY WANT to be a Husker. Give me 20 Jamal Turner's not because of his rankings, but because of his attitude.

+1 my friend, exaclt right. And this staff focuses on kids who are from: a winning program, have a good ehad on their shoulders, family oriented, and focus on school which is a recipe for success.

bullet.gif Despite recently picking up an offer from USC, a source said Patrick Onwuasor is probably not going to end up with the Trojans because they like him as a defensive back and he is set on playing wide receiver.

That's good news for Arizona and Nebraska, the top two teams vying for Onwuasor, a strong 6-foot-2, 190-pound three-star prospect from Inglewood, Calif.
