What do Big 12 players think of Nebraska?

Recommended Posts

I didn't see this posted yet. Its definately worth a read.

"The Oklahoman conducted its second annual Big 12 media days player poll, and they gave their answers"

There are some Really surprising answers in there. I thought there would be a lot more negativity towards Nebraska but frankly, not so much:

NewsOK Players Poll

A small sample:

Who were you more sorry to see leave the Big 12, Nebraska or Colorado?

Nebraska 71%

Both 21%

Colorado 4%

Neither 4%

...

What will you miss most about playing Nebraska?

-"Playing over there in their stadium. It's the third biggest city in Nebraska on Saturdays. What they do is unbelievable over there." — a Big 12 North offensive player

-"...Getting to play there is cool. Their fans, their stadium, everything." — a Big 12 South defensive player

-"Their fans. They're the nicest people in the world." — a Big 12 South offensive player

Colorado didn't come out so well, though. but a few of the players like their stadium. :snacks:

All four Texas players refused to take part in the poll. UT is on spin control. All of their players have been told what is ok and not ok to say. They are puppets. UT is trying to make themselves look good in all of this conference realignment and they don't want their players screwing it up. But no one else will notice. :throwdabones1:

"While the league's coaches voted overwhelmingly against having a conference championship game years ago, the Big 12 players unanimously support one, even though there won't be a championship game after this season."

Um.. wasn't that an 11-1 vote in favor of the game? Only Tom Osborne voted no and ironically he's the only one who's team is now going to be in a league that has one.

I thought this was funny.

TCU, garnering 27 percent of the vote, was the overwhelming selection as the school players would select to replace Colorado and Nebraska. Arkansas and Houston also received strong support.

Are these players delusional or just completely oblivious to history? Arkansas ran away from Texas and their ilk like a quarter horse chasing a stray! There is no way in hell they will ever get involved with a conference that involves Texas again, and they certainly won't be leaving a conference as successful as the SEC to do it!

I think some of these guys need a reality check, because they obviously don't realize that the Big12 is a sinking ship that no team is looking to jump aboard any time soon.

They're most likely oblivious. They were between 3-8 years old when that all happened, so they're probably not familiar with the story.

You may be right, but I've never felt that youth was an excuse to be ignorant of history. Then again, I'm admittedly obsessed with the past and the lessons it can teach us so I probably see the world a little differently.
