I've really enjoyed playing Nuke Town. It reminds me of some of the maps from when I use to play Unreal GOTY edition, years ago.

Nuketown is okay. I can never seem to get a killstreak going bc it is so small.

It being small is what makes it so fun. Back on unreal tournament some of my favorite maps were the small ones that guys had made themselves. I just like it so much becuase it reminds me of that. That's all.

Oh I like the mao, you get a crap ton of kills. I just can't seem to get any killstreak rewards. Do you have the new maps? What are your favorites if you do? I like Kowloon and Berlin Wall the best out of the four new maps

I broke down and bought a PS3 about a week ago. I haven't had a console system in about 4 years, since I got rid of my PS2 for lack of playing it. I bought Black Ops when I bought my PS3. It's my first FPS in a long, long time, and man do I suck at it. My K/D ratio is like .20 or something. Trying to get better, but it's frustrating.

We all sucked at that game for the first couple months

Yep, the first few weeks playing online where pretty rough. The game took a little getting used to in the beginning, but I fought through it and have gotten pretty decent now. Black Ops is my first COD game and I wasn't a huge fan of the previous titles, but since it was an x-mas gift from my brother I had to give it a shot. I won't lie, I still lay a deucer every now and again. I'll have matches where I drop below 1.00 K/D, but that's usually when I'm playing Capture the flag or Headquarters and I'm more concerned with upgrading my perks (Which is hella addicting btw and probably what sucked me in the most.) than getting tons of kills.

It's funny though, other than a few issues I had when I first picked the game up. Namely too few levels, and the inconsistent melee system. (Seriously, how often can I be killed by a 6in blade from 10ft away? <_< ) I found that the complaints I hear about why others don't like the game are the same reasons that I do like it. It's may be because the changes made by Trey Arch (sp?) makes the game feel a little bit more like 'Rainbow 6 L.V. 2'. Which to me is great, but to others may have be frustrating.

All in all I think it's a good game. I had to put it down for a while though. After working my ass off for most of my Perk Pros I decided to start in on NCAA FB so that I don't get completely burned out on it. Once the DLC comes out I'm sure I'll be back for more.

In the meantime if anyone wants to frag, or if you're still playing NCAA 2011 my user name on PSN is Dr_Danko. I'm usually not on until the middle of the night, but for the night owls out there feel free to add me if you want.

All I play is capture the flag. Sometimes I defend the flag and sometimes I put on a running class and go after the flag. Last year. MW2, melee was terrible. I could start the knife like 10 ft. away from the person and your character just lunges into them. This year I usually miss when I try and knife someone. I've been playing COD since COD 3 and I sucked at it for like 5 months and then I became okay. Now im a little above average. My KD ratio is 1.46 but thats bc I play capture the flag and watch the flag most of the time.

Yeah I sucked some serious ass when I first started playing it. If it wasn't for the perks I might not have played as much as I have the last few months. My overall K/D ratio would probably be much higher but I found myself rarely equipping the Pro Perks once I got them because I just moved on to the next ones I wanted to upgrade.

I do need to work on my kill streaks though. Unless I'm using Hardline I rarely get past 5-7 kills in a row before dying. I still don't get how some guys can get Rolling Thunder kill streaks when we're only a couple minutes into the match. O well, maybe that's a sign that I'm still just a lowly noob in the COD world. :)

Edit: While I'm here, what are some of your favorite weapons and load outs? I was using the AK47U or the MPL w/ S.O.H, Hacker and Hardline when I first started, but after playing CTF for weeks on end I found the lightweight perk to be pretty handy in most other game modes to.

I'll start will killstreaks, I use Helicopter, Chopper gunner and gunship and yes I get gunship quite often even though it is 11 killstreak. Try playing capture the flag and just find a good place to guard the flag, guys will keep coming and u will build a good killstreak. When u are close to a killstreak u like, go hide in a corner and get easy kills.. I know its gay, but don't hate the player, hate the game. I use the Commando with red dot sight and the AK47 with silencer. My perks are ghost pro, the reload fast perk (I forgot what it is called) and ninja or marathon. Depending on the class. If I want to capture the flag I use marathon. If I want to defend the flag, I use ninja. My favorite map is jungle bc when I get gunship and/or chopper gunner, there is no place for the enemy to hide so I get AT LEAST 10 kills with each one (as long as they don't have ghost) Let me know how that goes for u.

I do hate the game, which is why you can keep your purely twitch game with OP perks.

There's no reason to play COD when you have the battlefield series.

You guys are probably console scrubs anyway.

=p.

Actually when you have a PC, Xbox, PS3 and Wii there is no reason not to play everygame that comes down the pipeline. You can use your rewards card and get a used game from Gamestop, play for 2 days and if you don't like it you take it back and trade it in on another one. The most I have ever lost is 3 bucks. I have the Battlefield series but I still like plaing COD, it has it's moments.

Battlefield 3 will only widen the gap. Prepare your faces for melting.

I have all of those sans the ps3. My xbox has been dormant since I finished Gears of War 2 and Fallout: New Vegas. As there's only so many hours in the day and I have to attempt to have a life I generally only play good games. Being a noob sucks and MP is where it's at, so I generally don't hop around too much.

So really, I mean, money + not being a perpetual noob (it's cool if you're ok with that) + limited hours in the day... I think there's plenty of reasons to not play every game.

Not really a console scrub. I've been playing MMO's on PC for the last several years, and frankly, I'm just getting tired of them.

I don't play MMOs. MMOs make up a relatively small % of the games available for PC. Unless you meant you were getting tired of PCs to which I would ask, dang really?

I know MMO's make up a small %. I'm tired of sitting at the PC playing games. I use to be a console only gamer, went to PC, now back to console. I'll never give up on my PC, just tired of it for now.

Well I'm a father of 2 kids, one of which is 9 and has type 2 diabetes and the other being a teenager. I work 10 hours a day and come home and deal with teenager and diabetic problems, then after they go to bed I spend a few more hours getting motocross bikes ready for our 3 and 4 day weekends at the track so my son can try to make his dreams come true. That allows me to get a good 4 hours of sleep a night. Usually leaves me a couple of hours a week to play. Doesn't mean I can't have fun with it and try as many new games as possible. Obviously doing this I will never be considered a so called "GOD" of any one perticular game, but that's not what I play for. As far as having a life goes, I won't get into that cause you wouldn't understand. So I guess I would rather be the noob instead of the whole penis!

:yeah I'm the same way. I work my full time job 40 to 50 hours a week, go to school two nights a week, work a PT job at least one night a week, and have half custody of my son. Not really a whole lot of time to become a gaming god. But, when I do play, I have lots of fun, most of the time.

Guess you missed the part where you said it's cool if you're ok with that. No need to get offended. My implication of (attempting) to have a life had nothing to do with you. I also said attempting. I didn't say succeeding. But, I won't get into that because you wouldn't understand. Careful, you're workin' on being the best of both worlds.

I was actually going to +1 you for sticking through all that until I got to the end. I'll do it anyway I actually do understand what that is like. Anyway, it's just video games bro.

That's why I don't hop around. There isn't enough time in the day to do everything that life requires and be good at a bunch of different games, and I quite frankly hate being bad at one. So I'll play one or two for a year or so.

GUYS we're getting OT, this is supposed to be about how you all can't wait to form the huskerboard army on BC3 with me =).

And Fro--if you decide to pick BBC2 up again and you're on XBL, give me a holler. Got a group of 2-5 guys I squad with.

I might have to take you up on that. Saw they had it on sale at Gamestop for $28.

Update on the new maps for me. I have been a pretty decent sniper in the past games. This one not so much, but long shots with the rifles seems to be a bit on a specialty. So i decided if you want to kill people that run to buildings and post up in windows the best thing to do is to find a nice spot and or window and go to work on them. I have started using a silenced galil or silenced m16 and trigger burst long shots. I still am not a fan of the new maps, but i bust on my Huey about every game now. I had one this weekend where i had just prestiged and had the m16 against a bunch on guys in the mid 40's levels. I railed them as they ran to the same sniping spots over and over. I bounced around using the tanks for cover and racked up the kills.....too bad i hadnt unlocked my Killstreaks yet :( LOL

Fro: "hey guys, i got the right flank. I think I can clear this bunker if you cover me..."

HB TEAM MEMBER: "I got your 6 fro."

- fro sprints into the clearing and is promptly shot in the face buy 2 men -

Fro: "what the heck guys?!"

Not my fault you camp in sensor balls like they don't mean anything! Besides, if I really wanted to ruffle your stripes I would just follow you around constantly spraying my m249 into the air. Tracers work both ways!
