Jets try to start their own "Blackshirts Tradition"

I am familiar with how the Husker Blackshirts came about. Hell, if you hang around here and don't know I suspect the woodshed would be ablaze with all the flaming going on in your name. however, are there a lot of other teams that replicate this? I am sure we are all familiar with the common practice of different colored jerseys for different purposes (O, D, QBs, injured, etc) but more along the lines of reward-based? Looks like the Jets are adding their own form of reward based black practice jersey wearing.

Just curious.

i saw a deal in either miami or at florida on espn where they have a system that changes on a daily basis.3 levels of jerseys i think it was florida and it was yellow green and blue. people start with yellow and move up. if they had a bad performance then they could be moved down. but it gave many kids motivation to not be embarrassed by having one of those bottom of the barrel jerseys

I didn't think of that but I saw the same thing. If i remember right it was Miami. It was during Jacori Harris' last season. They do a whole series around the team similar to the Hard Knocks program. I forget what its called and I can't find it in youtube at the moment.

Urban Meyer makes players who are practicing "lazy" wear a different colored jersey untill they prove otherwise. The color use to be purple untill a gay rights group got upset about it and made them change it.
