HuskerNationNick
I am VERY excited for this game on Saturday, but I am not excited for it to be covered on ESPN2. The female commentator just "grinds my gears". Last time, I believe it was the Arky State game she covered, she mixed up players names, credited other players for tackles that weren't even on the field, and she mispronounced players and coaches names lol. Like John Papoopis. She is also a broken record. She will repeat a fact over and over again and then will come back to it 5 minutes later lol. The worst commentating I have yet to see. Anyone know a way to find out if she is going to be the one commentating? /Rant Quote Link to comment
teachercd
I must be the only one that doesn't get worked up about announcers, either way, good or bad. The only one I really think is cool, all the time, is Bill Rafferty. ONIONS! Quote Link to comment
huskerjch
She won't be she is always on the early game....I don't think she is horrible other then sounding like a dude. she is better then her color man Joey Galloway he sucks worse IMO Quote Link to comment
scarletNcream
My guess, Brock Huard and Mark Jones. They took over for Ed Cunningham and Mike Patrick (who now do afternoon games) on the prime-time Sat. deuce channel. Quote Link to comment
HuskerNationNick
I figured her and her partner were early games, but you never know lol. Her partner, is just as bad as she is. Two negatives, don't make a positive, and that proves it lol. Quote Link to comment

I haven't really ever paid much attention to the announcers or even care about what they have to say anyways. My dad usually has the volume turned down on the tv so he can hear the radio with Matt Davison. The only time I have ever disliked an announcer was Cunningham. The guy is a joke of an announcer. My father use to do that ALL the time, and I think the biggest reason, was because of the announcers. With me living in West Des Moines, IA, I don't have the luxury of the NU game being on the radio lol Quote Link to comment
zeWilbur
If you have surround sound just mute the center channel. Most networks put the announcers on that channel. Then you can watch the game without announcers you don't like but keep the crowd noise! Quote Link to comment
AgMarauder04
1. Turn on game on ESPN2 2. Mute TV 3. Find Husker radio broadcast 4. Profit. 2 Quote Link to comment
mike omeara
As long as it isn't Mark May (I realize he is in the studio only) or Brent Musburger I am fine with it. Brent seems like a nice guy, but man does he make a ton of mistakes while he broadcasts games. Anyway, that is how I feel about it. I have no problem with female announcers, as long as they are competent. The few females that I have heard do college games seem fine to me. Quote Link to comment
Hoosker
http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2012/08/multiple-new-roles-highlight-espn-2012-college-football-commentator-assignments/ It's going to be Brock Huard and Mark Jones calling our game with Jessica Mendoza / Shelley Smith on the sideline. I hate Beth & Joey as well. That's why they do the ESPN2 games at noon. Aka the least watched time slot. Quote Link to comment
tschu
lol like they would send Beth Mowins to Nebraska-Michigan Quote Link to comment
AgMarauder04
I like Brent, but nobody can kill a nickname faster than having it said FIFTY THOUSAND TIMES A GAME. Quote Link to comment

Brock and Mark aren't exactly a step-up either...but then again, ESPN has damn near exhausted their stable of competent announcers in the name of widespread game coverage. But hey, silver lining here--this game would be a Fox Sports PPV rip off fodder if we were still in the Big XII, and we'd be cramming ourselves into an overpacked bar (until the Fire Marshall appears) or shelling out $39.99 to watch the game at home. And you all know that Shelley Smith is the former Sports Editor of the Daily Nebraskan, right? Quote Link to comment
