MINNESOTA at No. 14 NEBRASKA

Adam Rittenberg: Nebraska has had letdown games at home under Bo Pelini, and this would qualify following a grueling stretch against Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State. But the Huskers can taste a Big Ten title, and they'll respond well against a Gophers team that should play loose after getting bowl-eligible. Minnesota jumps ahead behind a Donnell Kirkwood touchdown run, but the Huskers are once again too much in the second half as RB Ameer Abdullah and QB Taylor Martinez combine for 225 rush yards and four touchdowns. ... Nebraska 33, Minnesota 20

Brian Bennett: Here's the biggest upset pick of the week -- Nebraska won't need a second-half comeback. The Legends Division title is too close now for the Huskers to mess up, and they will overwhelm the Gophers on senior day. Martinez and Abdullah both eclipse 100 yards on the ground, and Rex Burkhead gets a ceremonial carry in his final game at Memorial Stadium. ... Nebraska 37, Minnesota 16

Minnesota (6-4, 2-4) at Nebraska (8-2, 5-1) – 3:30 p.m. ET, BTN/BTN2Go

Tom’s pick: Nebraska, 41-14 – The Cornhuskers will hold serve in the Legends Division by dismantling an overmatched Gophers team that isn’t ready to stand toe-to-toe with a team like Nebraska. The Blackshirts will smother freshman quarterback Philip Nelson. Meanwhile, Taylor Martinez will flourish.

Brent’s pick: Nebraska, 38-10 – Taylor Martinez won’t need to worry about engineering a second-half rally in this one. No, Nebraska will jump ahead early and lead wire-to-wire en route to recording its easiest win since trouncing Idaho State, 73-7, in the final week of nonconference play

What Will Happen: It’s Nebraska, so it’s going to end up being interesting in some way. Minnesota doesn’t have the horses to keep up for a full four quarters and won’t be able to fight back when down late. Martinez and Abdullah will each run for 100 yards.

I'd buy either of those predictions. I could see us winning by 13-21 points, and I could see us winning by even more, like 52-17 or something. It all depends on how the team comes out of the tunnel. Are they there to win, or are they there to bust ass and make a statement for these seniors?

Here's the stats breakdown for this game:

Stat - NU National Rank ( NU Conference Rank ) // MIN National Rank ( MIN Conference Rank )

That's a little ugly, but it's the quick way to show that, in every major category we not only are ahead of these guys, but we're far ahead.

Big Ten's Top Storylines to Watch in Week 12:

6. Will Rex Burkhead play on Senior Day?

Rex "Superman" Burkhead entered his final year in Lincoln as one of college football’s favorite sons. He is a hard worker who leads his team by example and can literally do anything on a football field. Well, a couple of knee issues have kept No. 22 off of the field for most of the year. He has played in only five games and has 47 total carries for 405 yards and three touchdowns. With Nebraska poised for a Big Ten title game and potential Rose Bowl, having Sexy Rexy healthy for the final two games of the year seems more important than a sure-fire win over Minnesota. But this is senior day in Lincoln and it would be a shame not see to Burkhead at least take the first snap and get the first carry, even if he takes a knee and trots off of the field with his head held high. We are rooting for you, Rex.

Braden Gall.....Nebraska, 41-20

Mitch Light....Nebraska, 31-17

Steven Lassan.......Nebraska, 34-17

David Fox.......Nebraska, 38-14

What to watch in the Big Ten: Week 12

2. Holding serve in the Legends: Nebraska and Michigan are tied atop the Legends Division at 5-1, and on paper, they should stay that way after Week 12. Both teams are favored to take care of Minnesota and Iowa, respectively, on senior day in Lincoln and Ann Arbor. Nebraska's magic number (wins and Michigan losses) to punch its ticket to Indianapolis is 2. A Huskers loss and a Michigan win puts the Wolverines in control of their own fate in the division. One senior day subplot is whether face-of-the-program stars like Nebraska running back Rex Burkhead and Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson will play after missing time with injuries. Burkhead (knee) returned to practice this week and seems closer to a return, while Robinson (elbow) remains day-to-day.

Revsine with some numbers:

The team the Wolverines are chasing in the Legends, Nebraska, is one of the few teams that has moved the ball well against Michigan. The Wolverines aren’t the only ones who had trouble stopping the Huskers.

412, 28; 312, 17.7: As was noted by Sam McKewon of the Omaha World Herald, the Huskers have averaged 412 yards and 28 points against the trio of Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State. Pretty impressive when you consider those three combine to allow an average of 312 yards and 17.7 points per game.

The story of the Huskers’ season, though, has been the come-from-behind wins – with the latest coming last week over Penn State. It’s a mind-boggling run – particularly when you put it into historical perspective.

3, 4: The Huskers have now come from 14 or more points behind to win 3 times this season. Coming into this season, they had come back from 14 or more down 4 times since 1951.

Nebraska has done this despite leading the Big Ten with 25 turnovers, which plays right into the hands of this week’s opponent.

13, 1: Forced turnovers have been the key to Minnesota’s success this season. The Gophers have forced 13 in their six wins and just 1 in their four losses.

Minnesota reached bowl eligibility last week. Four other Big Ten teams are still fighting to make a bowl, with each facing various levels of difficulty in getting there. With Penn State on the schedule this week, Indiana may be looking at the biggest uphill battle.

438: Penn State gave up 438 yards against Nebraska – the most it has allowed since its season opener against Ohio University. It had held its last eight opponents under 380 total yards.

If we get up by 21+, I wonder if Pelini will let off the throttle. Maybe put RKIII and Marsh in for experience. I think we will see a lot of players we haven't seen much of, in this game. We will win big. No doubt about that. I think we will allow a big play on defense, not because our defense is not good, but because its inevitable, and that will be the only TD they score. I give them 13-16 points. Our secondary is too good for them to score in the air, like they did with their other opponents, and the defense isn't going to allow a Freshman QB to come in our house, on Senior Day and steal the spotlight.

i still can't believe we have the 6th strongest schedule in the nation, thats why we are getting some BCS love.

I thought the same at first. As much as people hate on the B1G, we are getting SOS from playing Wisconsin, Ohio St, NW, Michigan, Penn St., and Michigan St. Most of them have been ranked throughout the year. That is murderers row. Throw in a #16 ranked UCLA, and you have a pretty stout calendar.
