BigRedBuster
Watch the documentary bigger stronger faster. If they are so dangerous and deadly why are they used in medicine and regarded as a miracle drug? Why did the government ban the use of them when the people they consulted said do not ban them? Did you know having low testosterone is worse than high testosterone? Did you know that the theory of they make you angry etc is made up? In terms of mood and temper they amplify the type of person you are. So yes if you have a temper and get angry easy it will make it worse. If you are not an adult male of good health physically and mentally then you shouldn't use them period. For medical use, yes they are used, but if they are used to enhance your abilities in sports it's unfair and frankly stupid! Legalize it....bigger stronger faster athletes equals much more exciting sports....we already watch athletes using PEDs on a daily basis maybe so, but it also makes it more dangerous, hence we wind up with what we're going through now with the concussion boom. Athletes are bigger, faster and stronger, and frankly the human body is just not designed to put up with the collisions that are taking place. Steroids would make this issue much worse. We're already seeing the demise of the sport of contact football right before our eyes because of bigger, stronger, faster, yet, you want to accelerate it. Risk reward. Football will never go away. Too much money involved. Many people will gladly play for millions with the chance of concussion. Would you play pro football for a mil a year if it resulted in possible concussion? I would Ask Junior Seau if he would. Quote Link to comment
sd'sker
here is the problem, if you legalize it or make it acceptable for athletes to use them, then every athlete *has to* use them if any athlete chooses to. that is not fair. i am opposed to them for a myriad of reasons, but this is the strongest argument. HuskerShark
IMO, PEDs should be tested monthly in ALL professional sports. Maybe even college. Get rid of anybody that uses them because they have no place in sports. Quote Link to comment

I would No football will never go away. You are right. I said the demise of the sport of contact football as in it is changing, heading for an irrecognizeble stature right before our eyes. I say it all the time, 10 years from now, this sport we love will be nothing like it is today. Quote Link to comment
Hedley Lamarr
Or it will eventually revert back to its old ways. Less contact will eventually result in fewer viewers. Just as many watch NASCAR for the crash Quote Link to comment

If the PED scandal in baseball proved anything, it is people, ie the fans, do not respect or want to dump money into a sport filled with juicers. Quote Link to comment

MLB 51
I would never advocate for steroid use in sports. Also, I not sure I believe steroids safe. Quote Link to comment
sd'sker
i do not think this is a real debate. one documentary done by a guy, with two juice-head brothers in love with the hulk, is not compelling enough to fundamentally change the sporting world, let alone convince enough people that steroid use should be permitted in professional sports. No. no, but seriously. look at all the credibility professional cycling and the tour de france have because of drug use. Quote Link to comment

I know too, but my answer isn't the same as yours. How many professional football leagues, other than the NFL, have started and either quickly folded or have limped along without anybody paying attention to them? Do you think the XFL cared about PED testing? I highly doubt it. Quote Link to comment
The Dude
I would never advocate for steroid use in sports. Also, I not sure I believe steroids safe. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the "steroids don't really cause roid rage!" song and dance that people are pushing these days is a flat out lie. There's a lot of misinformation on both sides of that discussion, but to just pretend the negative effects don't actually exist is dangerous on so many levels. Quote Link to comment
