Mavric
did anybody see what leveon bell ran? i just caught the end of his but i swear i seen 5 something 4.52 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Going back and looking at his highlights, he always gets tackled from behind on those long runs. He ran a 4.46 back in high school though Which was probably hand-held and would be about the same time as he ran today when measured electronically. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
I figured Rex would be in the bottom half of the 40 times. Currently 24th out of 33. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Geno Smith runs 4.59 - currently the best among QBs. There has been talk of the Chiefs taking him #1 overall and I'm sure that helps. Quote Link to comment
Haspula
did anybody see what leveon bell ran? i just caught the end of his but i swear i seen 5 something 4.52 He lost a lot of weight, he was 245 lbs at one point. He checked into the combine at 230 lbs Quote Link to comment
flatwaterfan
I was shocked to see L. Bell run that fast. Â Rex didn't show that well in the 40 but the film doesn't lie. He runs just as fast with pads as without and is quick. He's going to be a steal. He's a complete back. Catch, block, inside & outside runs. Gets north south. He will be fine. Quote Link to comment
HuskerNationNick
2nd run, Rex did a 4.75 Â Not exactly what I expected for a second try. I was thinking a 4.63. Â I believe he will excel later on in the other events. Quote Link to comment
Husker from Kansas
Rex will impress when the actual football drills start, nobody expected him to amaze during the 40, He will look alot better in everybodys eyes when they see his hands, and when they see his quickness and explosiveness in and out of cuts Quote Link to comment

It will knock him down a bit on some draft boards but anyone who's watched his tape knew he isn't blazing fast. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Rex makes a lot of big plays and long runs. He might not get that at the pro level, but it's clear he knows how to pick his lanes and wiggle around for extra yardage. Apart from the elite speed, he has it all. Honestly, what difference does it make if you run a 4.55 vs a 4.7? You're going to get caught from behind by somebody in both cases. Â I hope NFL teams realize that. Quote Link to comment
HuskerShark
Looking on NFL.com, it looks like Rex has been doing well aside from the 40.  2nd best vertical at 39 inches 2nd best broad jump at 125 inches  The guy is explosive, let's give him that. Quote Link to comment

He finally had a few this year and his 73 yarder against tOSU was great but his second-longest run in his career against a conference or bowl opponent was 33 yards. Â The 40 yard dash has been overvalued for years and I don't think that will change now. But it only takes one team to really like you and I bet he'll find a place in the late rounds. Surprised he struggled in the bench press - finishing 13th.  It'll be interesting to see how the agility drills come out. Quote Link to comment

Montee Ball pulling only 15 reps is struggling. Quote Link to comment
HuskerShark
Bench is an irrelevant stat unless a guy either does really bad or blows it up and does really well. Guys like Rex in the middle of the pack on bench are not effected in their draft stock whatsoever. I don't think Ball will be effected by his 15. Quote Link to comment
