Husker John
I wonder if the new divisions will actually be called east/west or retain the legends/leaders brand? Quote Link to comment
nebraskafaninwi
Possible start in 2014. Nine game conference schedule could start in 2016. All of these moves are good for B1G football. Now to get the expansion done and expand the brand into SEC country and ACC territory..... enormous for recruiting. Quote Link to comment
Husker from Kansas
I wonder if the new divisions will actually be called east/west or retain the legends/leaders brand? I hope they go to east/west. I know its generic and doesnt have alot of pizazz, but I have never like the legends/leaders names. And idk if east/west is that bad, when we played in the Big 12 it was north/south. HuskerNationNick
Our new division reminds me of the Big 12 division... We will be favorites to win ours, with the exception of maybe Wisconsin here and there. Quote Link to comment
swmohusker
I don't like it. Very similar to big 12. All the states with population and the most recruits are in same division. Quote Link to comment

True, but if we are winning our division consistently (3 out of every 4) then we will be getting quality recruits out those other states, just like we did when we were pulling quality recruits out of Texas. Plus this setup would give us an easier road to the CCG and a BCS bowl/playoff bid almost every year. Quote Link to comment

I completely agree and thought that wow this will turn out just like the Big 12 was for us, but the Crossover game may help TBD. Quote Link to comment

It's not exactly Texas on that side of the coin. Ohio and Michigan are locked down but it helps that more teams will dilute the talent pool in a region that Nebraska isn't generally in, save a few Ohio kids. Quote Link to comment
Flood
It looks unbalanced, based on recent years records. The East will be much tougher than the West, if the status quo remains. Good for Nebraska, but seems a bit unfair to the East teams. Quote Link to comment
WoodyHayes1951
Willing to bet that these divisions aren't set for more than two years of play. Quote Link to comment
Comish
If we get Purdue in lieu of Indiana, it will likely be a full recruiting cycle of four years with some players never playing a team (Indiana) within their own conference even once.......fwiw....... Quote Link to comment
Mavric
I'm glad they're getting rid of the protected crossover games (mostly). The idea was OK but I don't think it works very well in practice. Also, I like 9 conference games for the being. If there is more expansion, 10 might be OK but you'd get your own division plus about half the other division each year and I think that is fine. swmohusker
Hope we add a few more acc teams and make an east coast division and a more traditional big ten division. That would help balance things out a little more. Quote Link to comment

Not sure I follow you. Even on an eight game schedule, you'd have six division games and two against the other division which means you'd play each team at least every four years.
